K-2nd Grade Summer Bible Camp
Aug 1-5, 2016
The grounds of Glastonbury Abbey provide a perfect setting for the Abbey Bible Camp. The camp, for children from K - grade 2, offers hands-on nature, music, storytelling and art activities and introduces children to Bible stories and the teachings of Jesus. The goats and on-site bee hives provide added fun.
Facilitated by teachers Ellie Devine and Dotty Banks,
the camp runs

Meet the Author:

Thomas Moore, the former Catholic monk who drew on multiple traditions to help readers deepen their spiritual lives in the 1992 bestseller "Care of the Soul" will speak at the Abbey on May 12th at 7:15 PM.
Moore is a spiritual innovator whose life work has been helping people find and nurture an everyday spirituality. Besides "Care of the Soul," which was on the NYTimes best-seller list for 44 weeks, Moore has written many other best-selling and award-winning books on religion, spirituality and depth psychology. He has a PhD in religious studies from Syracuse University and is a psychotherapist.
He will discuss his new book "GOSPEL-The Book of Matthew, A New Translation with Commentary." With brand new language, Moore highlights a powerful call for change. The Gospels are often read as moralistic codes that produce guilt and fear. As a result of this strict perception, the use of these texts has often been limited to a Christian audience. However, the Gospels have a message for anyone interested in enriching their lives.
Moore offers the Gospels as a passport to a way for the future--not a belief system or a church or a religion, but a way of being in the world, open and accepting.

Please bring canned and/or dry goods to 9:30 Mass. We deliver the food to either the Hingham Food Pantry or Wellspring.

Join novice birder (and Abbey photographer) Lucy in a 2-3 hour tour of Glastonbury Abbey's trails and some surrounding conservation land to learn about the lives of Benedictine birds. No registration required. All welcome!
