12th Annual Authors Dinner is here!

The Authors Dinner is a magical night in our library, and your support makes the magic last. The Dinner is our most important fundraising event, and enables the Foundation to support our libraries all year long. This year we're honored to welcome our Honorary Chair, Chancellor Nicholas B. Dirks of the University of California, Berkeley.

The Silent Auction will offer literary treasures and exclusive vacation getaways as well as the premiere of unique events with authors which go on sale to all following the Dinner.

We can often fit in a few last minute guests, so don't despair! Please visit online or call our office at 510.981.6115 for last minute ticket availability.
Small Meeting Rooms at South and West Branches

Need a quiet space for a business meeting or tutoring session? Both of Berkeley's newest library buildings, South Branch and West Branch, offer small study rooms where a few people can work together without disturbing other patrons. They've proved to be very popular. The picture above shows what one group was using the room for: a language lesson in Kiswahili.

Small study rooms are an increasingly popular feature in libraries everywhere, where patrons can work together in the library - with no fear of being shushed! They are just one of the innovative design features of our revitalized branch libraries - if you haven't visited Berkeley's branches, treat yourself and go!

Thank you to everyone who made these and the many other incredible features of our new and renovated branches possible, bringing state-of-the-art libraries to everyone in Berkeley. Read about the Neighborhood Libraries Campaign.
