Breakout Session Spotlight

Strategies for Dealing with Challenging Behavior  participants will learn strategies to address escalation and supports for children and youth who present with challenging behaviors.     
Children with Mental Illness, Signs, Symptoms and Tools! - will  help participants recognize the warning signs and symptoms of children and adolescents who could be dealing with a mental illness.  
Self-determination (Youth Track) - youth gain skills to understand themselves 
and others and strategies for leading their IEP meeting.
Together We Can: Re-Thinking Poverty -  attendees will develop a deeper understanding of how poverty affects the educational experience.

Senate Votes to Confirm King to Head of Education Department

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Senate confirmed John B. King Jr. as the nation's education secretary.  As secretary, King will oversee the department as it puts in place a bipartisan education law passed by Congress and signed by President Barack Obama in December.  Read more .
