december 2013
Oh my, it's December already! Halloween and Thanksgiving is usually enough to fill my calendar but it was my school visits, other events and international travels(!) made my days just whiz by. I'm still trying to catch up (and the jetlag is not helping). So October and November newsletters got a little lost in the mix.

But you probably didn't even notice! The hectic holiday season has begun (according to the displays in my local store, the Christmas season began Nov. 1st) and I'm sure you are in a rush and tear as well. Do you need some shopping help? Well, I have some for you right here!
Purchase an autographed book, receive a free gift!

Did you shop on small business Saturday? I, unfortunately, did not leave the house (turkey malaise!) but I'm hoping to still do my bit to help out a small business, particularly a bookstore! Because my local bookstore
White Square Books has graciously arranged to offer autographed books for the holidays!

Just like years past, you can get one of my titles personally autographed! All you have to do it go HERE, purchase your book and send a quick e-mail to the store at [email protected] with your instructions (whom you wish the book to be personalized to) and the store will get it off to you. But if you want it before Christmas, you must make your order by 12 pm (eastern time zone) on
Friday, December 13th!

So that give you two weeks! But why wait, just order now!

Because with every order, I'm including a free gift*! Any order will include one of these exclusive porcelain ornaments designed by yours truly. They are pretty nice, even if I do say so myself. This is my way of saying thank you for sharing my books as well as patronizing White Square Books**!

* while supplies last, first come, first serve so get your orders in!

**White Square truly deserves some sales. Not only are they a cute little bookstore, they changed their website to allow for online ordering just for me! I know you can always get books cheaper from those mega online stores, but it's the small bookstores owned by true book lovers that will keep people reading!

etsy store
back in business!

After a long hiatus, I've finally restocked my etsy store! Not only are the old prints back in stock but I've included some new prints. And keep your eyes open! If I can get Rain Dragon to take a nice long nap I'm finally going to put some original art for sale on there and finally have that trunk sale!

in the news

You may have noticed that we've been in Taiwan recently. During the trip I gave a presentation at one of the local libraries and this article in the China Times was printed about it. Of course, I have no idea what it says but my mom said it was complimentary!

Ling and Ting Share a Birthday were given a lovely gift--they were in the the Sunday NY Times Book Review! They said, "These cheerful stories, with their flat, '50s-style illustrations, tell an inescapable truth: twins have to negotiate everything." Yay!
That's all for now! See you next month...hopefully!

Best Wishes,
Grace Lin
