Aoife (EEE-fah) O'Donovan
Thursday, April 24 @ 8 p.m.

"The Newest Darling of the Americana Set"

USA Today

With its appealing blend of bluegrass, folk, and back-porch Americana, Rolling Stone listed Aoife's debut album Fossils as one of last year's "must-hear albums of the summer."

Americana Songwriter praises her "hushed, sexy vocals (and) potent combination of folk, pop and country-influenced music that simmers with white heat."

In addition to playing a sold-out show later this summer at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Aoife has collaborated with members of the Punch Brothers as well as world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma. Her natural talent for songwriting caught the attention of Alison Krauss, who recorded Aoife's song "Lay My Burden Down" on her Paper Airplane album.

Friday, April 25 @ 8 p.m.

"The MARS-4tet makes jazz easy," says Suzy Moore.  "They also provide for some powerful and special moments live."

"The quartet's performance was one of the tightest, most powerful I have heard by any jazz artist
at any venue."

Baltimore Jazz Alliance

The MARS 4-Tet's original compositions and engaging re-imaginations of classics by Thelonious Monk, Keith Jarrett and even Led Zeppelin cover all the musical bases with a laid-back humor and an abundance of polished style.

Come out to the show Friday to celebrate their new release, The Blind Watchmaker, which bridges where jazz has been and where it's headed by blending Brazilian, European, and African styles together with swing, funk, and electronics to create a bold new sound that's really out of this world!

Saturday, April 26 @ 1 p.m.

Met Music Director  James Levine conducts Mozart's barbed, comic romance Cosi Fan Tutte transmitted live in the Avalon Theatre from The Met!

The Associated Press heralds this production as "prime Levine: a lithe, energetic, transparent account of Mozart's miraculous score, brisk but not rushed, polished and profound."

Live at the Fillmore--
Allman Brothers Band Tribute
Saturday, April 26 @ 8 p.m.

"You can relive the music - in a live setting - of arguably the greatest AMERICAN rock and roll band of all times..."  Ryan Finch, Avalon

The Avalon Dance Floor Will Be Open!

Live at the Fillmore takes its name from what many consider to be the greatest live album ever made by one of the greatest live bands of all time, The Allman Brothers' classic At Fillmore East, recorded at Bill Graham's legendary New York rock venue in the early '70s.

This tribute band preserves all the dynamic elements of blues, jazz, psychedelic, and country music that were fused together by the original Allman Brothers Band.

And like the original band they pay tribute to, Live at the Fillmore isn't just a jam band...they're a band that knows how to jam!
