Move!
Originally named water ballet, synchronized swimming requires performing twists, splits, flips, and lifts, all while keeping on beat with music and never touching the bottom of the pool.

Dear Duke,
I was reading the Award requirements and am confused by the term consecutive. Does this mean that the hours must be done all at once? What are the specific requirements for how the hours must be completed? Any help is appreciated!
Sincerely,
Beginning the Bronze
______________________________________________________________________________
Dear Beginning the Bronze, The term "consecutive" is a bit misleading. While you can certainly pursue all of the Award components at once, you can also be flexible in your approach by completing the sections one by one
For Bronze participants, they must complete their activities once a week to meet the 13-hour requirement. As a result, the total amount of time to complete the Award will vary for each participant.
Our website is full of great resources and information- click here for different ways to manage your time requirements! And if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact our Award Officers by phone or email!

Meet Cate Hanlon - another one of BC's extradorinary Duke Delegates. To see all representatives and to learn more about the Duke Delegate program,
visit the National Duke of Ed site!
Name:
Cate Hanlon Age: 18
City of Residence:
Kelowna
My Duke of Edinburgh's Award experience in three words:
expansive, better, braver
My Award Levels Completed:
Bronze and Silver
My "claim to fame" is
: in September, I'm moving to Scotland (where I know no one!) for university
For me, being a successful Duke Delegate looks like:
helping to lead the nation-wide network of ambitious youth
My most memorable Duke of Ed experience has been:
with a hike of 1000m elevation gain, getting to the top and realizing my friend had brought for our lunch a single tortilla (each), folded in half, with a thin layer of peanut butter on it
If I had the time and money to learn anything I wanted, it would be:
to speak Latin and to play the pipe organ (really useful things, you know?)
