Shalom Parents,

I hope you enjoyed a great summer, and here at B'nai Jeshurun we're looking forward to an exciting year with you and your children. Our program will begin with Bet Limmud on Tuesday, September 5th, and our first Shabbat will be September 9th. Please join us at our Back to School Shabbat lunch on September 9th at noon. Come see old friends, meet new people and enjoy Shabbat together as a community!

This year, our theme is Kehillah Kedosha, Building Sacred Community. Throughout the year, we are focusing on building our community, with class bonding activities, school-wide programs, programs for families and Shabbatons that bring everyone together for immersive Jewish experiences.

I value your input to make our school the best place it can be and would love your involvement with our education committee, helping to strengthen our community and support our school. As I continue to work with our talented faculty, staff and education committee to shape our school moving into the future, stay tuned for updates and new programs that you can take advantage of in the quickly approaching school year. I look forward to a wonderful year with you!

Family Programming

1st Day Rosh Hashanah - Thursday, September 21 and
Yom Kippur - Saturday, September 30 * 11 am

Family High Holy Day Service (Halpern Hall)
The power of a family experience can add incredible depth of meaning, particularly at a time that holds so much sanctity. These services, led by Rabbi Josh and Alan Goldweber, will allow adults and children to sit together, pray together, and experience the holy days together.

These family services follow the familiar liturgy with a creative approach, opportunities for participation, and most importantly, many special moments that revolve around the family unit. For this reason, we ask that children who attend these services be accompanied by at least one related adult (or have their child join with a friend's family).

Young Childrens' Holiday Experience (Gottlieb Auditorium)
This holiday experience combines singing, storytelling, movement, unique project stations and the sounds of the shofar to create an enjoyable holiday experience for families with young children.

As usual our traditional family-friendly service will take place in the Gross Schechter Day School Auditorium.

2nd Day Rosh Hashanah - Friday, September 22 * 10:30 am
