We Are Selling Out Russian Gold Plated Brass---Deep Discounts---Stock UP!

B'sue Boutiques Creative Group was FEATURED in the June Issue of Bead Chat!

haul

This is a picture shared with us by Nike Bottalico of the big haul of Russian Goldplated components she picked up at B'sue Boutiques

Due to popular demand for a plain matte gold finish, we have decided after many years of carrying Russian Gold Plated brass, to discontinue it.

Here's the thing....you can easily antique RGP on your own to look just like this....and with matte, you have more options.  Matte gold is a very stylish, trendy finish, and our is a nickel free true 18K gold finish three mils thick over the brass.  Our initial orders have already been placed and some stock should begin to trickle in, in the next few weeks.

Meantime, I have deeply discounted RGP anywhere from 20-50% off.   Time to come and load a cart.....as when you go over 100.00 you still get the 10% discount as well.....and you can also use the FIVEBUCKS coupon.   We still have a good stock of many pieces, and there are also a couple of Russian Goldplated Brass Muses in the Assemblage and Muse Package Section

Another tip, you can remove the antique from RGP with acetone, carefully swabbing it off.

The B'sue Boutiques Creative Group at Facebook was featured in this month's BEAD CHAT magazine, sponsored by the Artisan Whimsy Ning Group.

Here is a link to some MIGHTY FINE READING:

http://glossi.com/artisanwhimsy/19197-june-2013-bead-chat-magazine-by-artisan-whimsy

In our section I featured five artists from the group who had made Hand Flower bracelets....all very distinct designs, but all using things from B'sue Boutiques    Also featured were Iced Enamels and Cherie Barnes' cold porcelain flowers:

porc

Cherie has a for-sale tutorial in her Etsy store:

Cherie's Pottery

My necklace (below) was also featured:

mix

The necklace is here in our shop in East Palestine, if anyone is interested contact me at bsue1441@aol.com....it is reasonably priced.  I used several techniques:  polymer clay, Swellegant, assemblage, and tissue decoupage!

Once again many THANKS to Melinda Orr for all she does for us artisans by presenting so many valuable forums to display and discuss what we do.   The woman is a visionary!  I think Bead Chat (an online magazine that is FREE!) will become a very important e-zine and its format will grow by leaps and bounds.  I am thrilled to be any part of it, and to have our group featured.

More HAND FLOWERS!  This one is from Gina Hockett:

And how about this one from Isabelle Fetherston?

We had some mighty fine participation on this challenge, and Ellen Gonchar of Vintique Jools  was our winner for the 25.00 gift certificate to B'sue Boutiques.

FREE FIFTY DOLLAR GIFT CERTIFICATE....

We have a random winner!

Mary Reckmeyer won!

This week, say GIMME FREE STUFF with any order 35.00 or more and it's YOURS....but you have to ask ON THE ORDER so that the shippers see your request.

I've padded a bunch of the little goody bags that go out in the orders with 10.00 gift certificates, too.

All things considered, everybody wins when they shop at B'sue Boutiques

This month's challenge is Miss Chatelaine......YOUR take on vintage chatelaine-style jewelry.  Your inspiration could be a Victorian chatelaine like this one:

vintagechat

Or this one:

darksilver

This is old, dark patina silver....but how about some rusty black filigree and bits?

Or you could base your design on the look of a chatelaine brooch..  This is a fine jewelry piece, Van Cleef and Arpels, Art Deco:

decochat.jpg

Or a necklace derived from the drops of a chatelaine.....maybe off of some filigree.   Fobs, repurposed and found items.....even put them on a ring or hoop and hang them.   This piece was based loosely on the idea of a chatelaine, I made it some time ago as a reprise of a piece I used to create for my 90's gift line of jewelry:

horse

Miss Chatelaine could also be a double brooch, which were called Chatelaine Brooches and very popular in the 50's:
bee

This is a Joseff of Hollywood brooch made with the bee stamping we carry...in several sizes, along with some rope chain.

Here is another example:

chn

Here is another vintage one made with old stampings.  You could also translate this idea to a necklace!

oldstamps

So what do you think?

Will you join us?   I would like to feature some in the next issue of BEAD CHAT magazine, as Melinda Orr has offered us space going forward , two pages every month.    Our deadline is third week of the month....so...

Get busy, go through your stash of goodies and see whatcha got and what you can come up with!  I can't wait to play!

And be sure to come and join us at the B'sue Boutiques Creative Group at Facebook!   Consider this your personal invitation.  All skill levels are warmly welcomed.  It's a great place of fun and sharing.  You will be so glad you came!

Last week I shared a photo of Carline Laurense's Muse package.  Wanna see what she made with some of it?

That is JUST excellent!   Thank you for sharing, Caroline!

At B'sue Boutiques, we have ONE flat fee charge for orders under 100.00.  It's just 3.95.   Many sites charge service fees on small orders.   We do not.....it's just 3.95 flat to ship your package anywhere in the USA.

We are going to work hard to keep that at 3.95 at least through summer.  I'm also reviewing stock and prices to see what I can do to get you the BEST for the least.

Other vendors offer brass stampings similar to ours but there is still a big difference:  they do NOT have our finish.   Many are using platers and finishers that I have long ago abandoned as not being of high enough quality.   Also, those finishes contain nickel; ours do not; the only items that do are the few pewter ox items we still carry (a cuff and a bezel bracelet, due to popular demand.)

Our goal at B'sue Boutiques is to offer you the best collection of unique jewelry making products and mixed media supplies at the lowest possible prices, and hold prices down.   We know you want to enjoy your craft, and are committed to offering you the best for the least we possibly can...while shipping your orders quickly and efficiently.

If your order is 50.00 or more, add code FIVEBUCKS in the coupon code box and get 5.00 off.

IF YOU ARE A VOLUME CRAFTER:
100.00 and up automatically gets 10 percent off. No code is necessary for our regular site discount for over 100.00.  You can also layer the FIVEBUCKS coupon with that for even more savings!

If you love our wares, have a tax ID and would be interested in buying large orders, we can offer you our Designer Discount program:

This week I got a lovely surprise from Moriah Betterly of BluMudd:

moriah

Moriah does a fabulous job with her ceramic work and I have been wearing her necklace nearly every day.  I love it.

She also does an amazing job of branding her company, as well.  All of her packaging was labeled with her logo:

packaging

Even the BOW had her logo on it.

Branding is that extremely important professional touch that makes people remember you.   The quality of your work is paramount; but next to that, having at least a logo and a business card to represent you is essential.  It doesn't have to be expensive; you can even have a stamp made and stamp your own materials, which Moriah has done  on her boxes.

Check out her website:

Here are some pieces made by new jewelry artist Judy Jones King:

Old keys and rhinestone stuff to pick through!

She did some gorgeous Hagler-style beading on the leaves.   Some of the elements are from our website, and some are repurposed.

here is the back of the piece:

Very clever!

Here is an assemblage piece she made:

We'll never be done with Kitchen Sink Style.....here is a VERY cool necklace from Renee Webb Allen:

And from Janet Wilson, some very pretty patina earrings!

Mocki Rangne of MockiDesigns was very busy and treated us with photo after photo of pretty new work:

She used this piece from the site:

She did a great job of painting it!

She also made this pretty ring:

BY THE WAY.....many of our RING BLANKS are on sale too!

My dear friend, Kate Mulligan, made this cool necklace:

It has a very cool assymetric look about it, and I like how she used the wing finding!

Joan Williams of Lil Ruby did an awesome job of painting these pendant findings:

Patty Kruger put this cameo necklace together:

I love that picture of the guy raking in the cash...

Amazing how many people think we make tons of money and just sit at home lazing about.

If you LOVE what you do.......and you love making people happy.....and you love the color, the light, the design of the world that surrounds you....

You can be a self-employed jewelry artist.

With hard, hard work, a little talent, and lots of determination, you can make enough money to live on.   Get rich?  Well, I guess there are a few out there who hit it big.  Don't waste any time dreaming of that.  Concentrate on the work instead.

You will work 15-16 hours out of 24.  If you are really fortunate, a good chunk of that will be in your workshop, creating.

The real truth of it is, you're gonna spend a huge chunk of it keeping records and working social media, learning to take good photos and dealing with all the new technology that comes down the pike.

It takes even MORE determination not to let those important, necessary things kill your creativity.   A good schedule and self-discipline will help.

If you come and join us at B'sue Boutiques Creative Group   you will find fellow artisans at all stages of the journey....some seasoned vets like myself who have done everything from deal with stores, produce a line, fight with  suppliers and deal with competition while trying to stay fresh and inspired......to those who are just starting out, have some great new ideas and dream of having a successful Etsy website.

Everyone at every stage of the journey is invited to be a part of the Group.  We  try to help with tips about show set ups, packaging materials, shipping methods, new technology, and learning the ropes when it comes to social media.

We even have a veteran benchwork jeweler, Harry Wood (see him at Oscar Crow at Etsy) to advise us on the heavy duty tools B'sue Boutiques doesn't sell.

Harry is our tool liason.

When you are an artist working at home, sometimes you just need a play day.  Look what Renee Webb Allen made:

Looks to me like she had a blast.

I made this necklace this week:

I made some earrings, too.....maybe I can share those pix at the group later in the week.
