Is There a Water Crisis?

Date: November 3rd at 7:00 PM
Cost: Free
Location: Sausalito Library -
Council Chambers

420 Litho Street, Sausalito

Speaker Series:
Is There a Water Crisis in the Western U.S?

All of the available water in the Western United States is allocated - someone uses all of it. If as a society we conclude that all of our current uses of water are important and must continue, then new users will have great difficulty obtaining water. On the other hand, irrigation uses more that 80% of the water supply in most western states. The issue revolves around what is the impact of transferring water from irrigation to urban use. In this special presentation, consulting geologist and Sausalito resident John Bredehoeft, Ph.D, will present an overview of the crisis and challenge attendees to make their own judgment concerning the crisis. More on John's work can be found at hydrodynamics-group.net

Yoga of Sausalito
Saturday, November 19 - 5pm-7pm

Yin Yoga * Tibetan Bell Experience * Meditation

Open up your potent meditative awareness of breath, deep listening and witnessing of sensations through longer, passive holds, while being embraced by the sound and vibration of Tibetan Bells.
Yin yoga emphasizes gently opening and benefiting Yin tissues including ligaments, fascia, joints and bones. It also works on the energetic channels of the meridians, nerves and blood system.

Tibetan bells create an ambient sound that helps move one into the more meditative Alpha and Theta brain wave frequencies, where we tap into our clarity, intuition and peace of mind.

Camden holds space for students to experience a newness that invites a deeper listening of their inner voice. Her radiant flow and yin classes ignite curiosity, courage adventure, clarity and possibility. She invites her students to recognize and shine their inner radiance on and off the mat taking them to the realm of possibility and connection to joy. Camden weaves wisdom philosophies throughout the practice offering a safe, loving and patient space to explore.

Karma Moffett has developed, over a period of thirty five years, an exceptional program of music, which is presented to the community as a Wish-Bestowing Ceremony. He uses his unique collection of instruments, featuring antique Tibetan Bowls, Bells, Tingsha, Longhorn, and Conch Shells. He also plays instruments gathered from throughout the world, and some he has hand-made.

Space Limited.
