President's Update
Thanks for a great year
Kevin Luey, BACA President

To Our Members,
A BIG thank you for your continued participation and enthusiasm-it is the life force of our community. Thank you also for the generous donations and feedback we receive. With such support and generosity, we can look forward with much optimism as we each grow in our love of music, performance and creativity.

Building Friendships
We've added another support for you and hope you can join us. A popular way to connect and share resources is by socializing over dinner and refreshments after Open Mics and Performance Showcases. Simply ask the MC for information.

Save the Date - 12/6, 7pm
The always popular BACA Christmas Party is to be held this year at Asiana Fusion in Watertown, Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., December 6. The food is excellent and there will be an Open Mic. We hope you'll all come out for the fun and an opportunity to connect.

Many thanks . . .
A special thanks to retiring Board members Sara Curry, Ruhina Tahir and Robby Williamson, who contributed so  significantly. Ongoing thanks also to the Advisory Board and Ex-Officio Officers who have supported the Board so strongly. And, many thanks to the hardworking current Board members who give so much. Come join us.

Finally, on behalf of the BACA Board, I would like to personally thank all our past, current and new BACA members and look forward to your active participation and seeing you at upcoming events, Open Mics, and the 2017 Christmas Party.

With utmost respect,
Kevin
BACA Open Mic
by Linda Marks, Board Open Mic Director

Our monthly cabaret open mic is a great way for singers to put themselves in front of a very supportive and fun crowd, gain the confidence they need to forge ahead in their singing careers, and to learn by watching other singers, both members and non-members of BACA.

We welcome and are fortunate that non-singing people come too - simply to listen, relax, and enjoy the wonderful music - such a great audience!

Our open mics include a host for each evening and top piano accompanists from all over the Boston area.
Socializing and sign-up are from 6:45-7:00 pm. The Open mic is from 7:00 until 10:30 pm. Singers should prepare up to two songs with music charts in the correct key.

  Outreach Program
By Sheryl Altman, Board Legal Counsel

BACA gives back to the Community and provides you another opportunity to work up your music with professional accompaniment.

Sheryl Altman and Joyce Friedman are organizing the BACA Outreach Program and will be working with several assisted living facilities and other senior venues to put on performances/shows on a few Sunday afternoons over the course of the upcoming year. We will have 4 or 5 Singers for each event. Song choices should be relevant to the Senior audience (songs that they will know and like). Singers should also be enthusiastic and engaging with the senior audience.

If you are a BACA member and would be interested in participating in this program, please send Sheryl Altman an email. Your name will be added to the roster and you will be contacted when dates are scheduled. Further details will also be provided once some shows are booked.
