All of the BASCA Board, Staff, Volunteers and the Individuals we serve have been overwhelming in their support during my first month on board.  Together, we are working to build on the past accomplishments and continue with needed growth and development.  I am very pleased to provide the professional leadership and assistance needed to accomplish the BASCA mission going forward.

It was my great pleasure recently to be invited to dinner at our Lakeside Villa Group Home.  What a warm welcome and very good meal with all six of the women and the house parents.  There were questions galore and very good conversations all the way around.
Thank you so much-to everyone!

Sincerely,
Beth (Hughes) Clark, LCSW

Peoria Pool Party
Photos and story by Rhonda Bowers

Last month was hot and this month is hotter! We decided we needed to have one last summer fling. When we were invited as guests to the pool at Victoria at Orange Park Apartments, we immediately and excitedly said "YES". Lily was not able to come with us, but that didn't stop the Peoria Ladies from having some fun! We splashed around in the pool and had a picnic. After our lunch of hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and potato salad we continued to swim all afternoon. We love to have fun in the sun!

BASCA's 4th Annual Chomp 'N Stomp 5K/1 Mile Run, Walk, & Roll - October 22, 2016
Are you ready to run, walk or roll? We are!

BASCA's 4th Annual Chomp 'N Stomp 5K/1 Mile fun run is just around the corner and we are gearing up for another great run. Last year our race location moved to begin and end right in front of our New Campus on the corner of Stowe Avenue and Smith Street in the heart of historic Orange Park. If you were in attendance last year you might have taken a tour and received a sneak peak of what was coming for BASCA. This year you can get the full experience as we open our doors once again for you to see our New Campus all set up, running and providing much needed services to our friends, family and loved ones with special needs.
Change is ever occurring and we are happy to announce the 2016 Title Sponsor of our Chomp 'N Stomp is Fleming Island Family Dentistry. Dr. Peggy Lessig, BASCA Board Member, has also taken on the challenge of chairing our Chomp 'N Stomp committee and she is committed to growing the event to its fullest potential.
What else is new and in store for you at this years' event?
  • Door prizes
  • 50/50 drawing
  • And much, much more!

Thanks to the faithful  and consistent support of friends who make a gift every month to BASCA, we can rely on a steady stream of income to purchase supplies for our group homes, provide  participants with activities such as arts & crafts, and equip our participants with adaptive tools in our vocational shops.

An automatic, monthly gift - charged to your credit card or debit card or debited from your bank account - is the easiest way to give. Some members write a check to BASCA every month when they sit down to pay their bills or have their bank automatically send us a check once a month.

How can monthly giving benefit you?
  • It's rewarding. You'll have the satisfaction of knowing you are helping our brothers and sisters with intellectual and developmental disabilities 365 days a year.
  • It's easy and automatic. You choose the dollar amount.
  • It's flexible and secure. You can increase, decrease, pause or stop your donation at any time.
  • It's convenient. You will receive one, consolidated tax receipt for your donations each January.
What makes monthly giving so valuable to BASCA?
  • It makes a difference. Every month supplies and equipment can be ordered and ready to go for our participants to build their abilities and learn new skills.
  • It's reliable. The program provides a consistent source of funding.
  • It's cost effective. Automatic donations are processed more efficiently and monthly donors receive fewer mailings every year.
How do I become an Abilities Builder?
  • Authorize regular, recurring charges on a credit or debit card. Call the office to assist in setting up your online account through BASCA's online giving site.
  • Mail a check to us every month.
  • Avoid credit card fees and sign up for gifts to be automatically debited from your checking or savings account (also known as ACH) on the 15th of every month. Complete the application on the next page and mail it to us.
