BC Home + Garden Show set to unveil the HONOMOBO Container Laneway Home at 46th annual show

The most trusted resource for every home and garden revolutionizes alternative living with the Container Laneway Home designed and built by Honomobo, February 22-26th, 2017 at BC Place Stadium

VANCOUVER, BC, February 1, 2016 – The 46th annual BC Home + Garden Show returns to BC Place Stadium from February 22-26 and is the most trusted resource for every home improvement project, inside and out. This year is set to be no different, with over 425 exhibitors and features set to appear at the show, including the unveiling of the innovative Honomobo Container Laneway Home, a modular, livable, and modern home designed to revolutionize the concept of simple living.

The Honomobo Container Laneway Home that will be on display at the BC Home + Garden Show is built from shipping containers and spans 704 square feet. It can be easily stacked or relocated according to need, with endless applications and beautiful, yet practical, design throughout. Interior designed by local, award-winning boutique interior design agency Kendall Ansell Interiors, and landscaped by Blue Pine Enterprises Ltd., this space-saving home is truly unique, featuring efficient design and durable construction, while reducing construction timelines from months to weeks, making it a practical choice for those considering alternative living options as real estate prices in British Columbia continue to climb.

“Each year,  we strive to be at the forefront of innovation and trends in the home and garden market with the BC Home and Garden Show, and this year is no different,” said Tyson Kidd, show manager for Marketplace Events, producers of the BC Home + Garden Show. “We’re thrilled that the revolutionary Honomobo Container Laneway home will be making its debut at the home and garden show and we know it’ll be a popular attraction for the thousands of visitors we get over the course of the show week, from February 22nd-26th.”

“Small space design is something we specialize in and are so familiar with given the current market trends in Greater Vancouver,” added Kendall Ansell, principal and founder of Kendall Ansell Interiors. “We love how beautiful, modern, and seamless the Honomobo design is and we are proud to be interior designing this container home. This project really allowed us to integrate our design philosophy of considering substance and lifestyle at the forefront of the design process, and showing off that even the smallest spaces can be both stylish and functional”

Manufactured out of Edmonton, Alberta, Honomobo is one of Canada’s first premanufactured Shipping Container Home builders and is simplifying the way homes are built. Using modular construction with more than 95% of the work completed in a factory, it’s a modern plug-and-play home built from shipping containers that also reduces disturbance to neighbourhoods that surround the construction site. Honomobo will also be launching a brand new product line, called the OBO, at this year’s BC Home + Garden Show. Currently, various model sizes are available, ranging from 207 to 1,380 square feet.

“We are so excited to be bringing container living to the backyards of Vancouver homeowners at this year’s BC Home + Garden Show,” said Devon Siebenga, President of Honomobo. “We’re also excited to announce that we will be introducing our new product, the OBO, which will be on display at the show. This 100 square foot space raises the bar for your various day-to-day living needs: it can be instantly added to your backyard as a studio space or workspace - the applications are truly endless! We can’t wait to reveal it to show-goers when it debuts on February 22nd at BC Place Stadium.”

The BC Home + Garden Show runs from Wednesday, February 22nd to Sunday, February 26th at BC Place Stadium. For more information, or to buy tickets online and save $3, visit http://bchomeandgardenshow.com/.
