Washington, DC - It is with great pride and hard work that we must update and inform you that on Thursday 12/3/2015 we received the "Letter of Determination" for 501 (c) (3) from the Internal Revenue Service of the United States Department of Treasury effective November 30th, 2015.
The letter includes the following:

Public Charity Status: 170 (b) (1) (A) (vi)
Effective Date of Exemption: July 16, 2015
Internal Revenue Code: 501 c3
Donors can deduct contributions they make to BORINQUENEERS CONGRESSIONAL GOLD MEDAL CEREMONY NATIONAL COMMITTEE. Also we are qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devices, transfers or gift under section 2055, 2106, or 2522.
While a donation comes from the heart, and the cause of the Borinqueneers is more than justifiable, we must ensure that we show commitment, direction, unison, one message, one voice and one organization responsible for making this happen with true and official credentials to validate our efforts and appreciation to those whom decide to contribute.
We are now a federally recognized organization by the Internal Revenue Service, moving forward with this endeavor and we aim to accomplish our mission to; pay tribute, promote legacy and educate the public about the 65th Infantry Regiment known as Borinqueneers.
