BCI Symposium Round Table Discussion Provides Significant Feedback
During the 2016 BCI Annual Symposium, the BCI executive team posed the following questions to all attendees:
  1. What will you do in the next two years to help lead your team to success?
  2. How will it be significantly different than what you have done the last two years?
  3. How can BCI help you get there?
After the round table discussion, each table designated a speaker to share their top interests:
  • Gain momentum and success
  • Increase time for prospecting
  • Define a new business strategy
  • Become active with technology and BCI Solutions
  • Bring in more helpful technology tools to create agency efficiency or for customer use
  • Establish new ideas to compete with local or global brokers
  • Create a marketing strategy for all size groups
  • Increase client renewal strategies in a significant way
  • Request carriers prove a greater strategy for 12/1 and 1/1 renewals
  • Provide greater support to Account Managers year round, especially during 4th quarter
  • Strategically move group effective dates from 4th quarter
  • Round out accounts with additional lines or voluntary products and services
  • Define other revenue generators; products and services
  • Define strategy for fee-based services
  • Develop implementation and sales strategy for required employer compliance activity, plan docs, and notices
  • Prepare groups for IRS reporting and DOL audits
  • Provide turn-key solutions for plan docs or services
  • Become a client resource for Human Resources to maximize relationship
  • Make blocks of business more efficient

MBW Update on SBC Templates
Marathas Barrow & Weatherhead has provided a compliance update on the newly revised SBC templates that were released last week. The documents are currently under a 30 day comment period. Once finalized, it is anticipated that the new templates will apply in connection with plans renewing on or after January 1, 2017, including open enrollment periods that occur in the Fall of 2016 for coverage beginning on or after January 1, 2017.
