CareerSource CLM  will be holding a job fair for "senior high school" students for Marion County on May 17th at Marion Technical College, Brewster Hall.  Employers interested in attending should call (352) 873-7991.

CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion (CSCLM) Pre-Screening and Assessment Services:
One of the many services that CareerSource CLM offers to employers is pre-screening and assessments of career seekers.  Employers in targeted sectors or have open positions in the following targeted sectors (health, manufacturing/logistics, information technology and professional), are able to take advantage of pre-screening of applicants for their vacancies and/or assessment of applicants skills.  To take advantage of pre-screening applicants, employers should speak with their CareerSource business development coordinator, or call (352) 873-7955,

For assessing applicants, CSCLM utilizes an assessment tool called Prove It - which is literally, what it does.  The assessment "proves" the applicant has the skills they state they possess. For instance, an applicant states during an interview or on their resume that they are proficient in Excel.  Employers can request through CSCLM to assess the applicant's Excel skills.  CSCLM will send the applicant a link (or request they come into our office), to take a short online assessment in Excel to measure their skill level.  Once the applicant is done with the assessment, the results will go directly to the employer for further review and/or consideration.  CSCLM will work with the employer to determine the next steps and/or how to advise the applicant of the process if any.

There are over 1,200 Prove It assessments that employers can access through CSCLM, which are of no cost to the employer or applicant.  These assessments range across all industries - such as:
  • Microsoft Office Suite, customer service, payroll skills, writing skills, typing skills, healthcare, manufacturing, blue print reading, and on and on.
Click on the following link:  ProveIT Assessments, then click at the top of the page where it says "Assessments Available" to see the long list of available  assessments .

We encourage employers to take advantage of the Prove It assessments to help them narrow down their search for applicants, as well as validate the applicant's ability.  Employers can require Prove It assessments to be completed as part of their application process, by adding language to their job posting that assessments are required and to contact CSCLM to set it up.

One last and very important note, Prove It assessments are "validated and approved" standard assessments which protect employers utilizing the information from the assessment to screen in and/or screen out applicants.

For more information about utilizing Prove It or our pre-screening process, email [email protected], or call 352-873-7955.
