BREWSTER DAY CAMP          Newsletter    July 22, 2018        Vol. 36 Issue 14
Hello Brewster Day Camp!
In life, we are always DESIGNING. A DESIGN is the purpose, planning, or attention that exists or is thought to exist behind an action, fact, or material object. Everyday, we DESIGN our lives and our relationships, setting out to see these DESIGNS come to fruition. At BDC, DESIGN is all around us; if you look closely enough, you'll find it!
As I walk around camp, I find DESIGN everywhere at BDC! From your first moment on our campus, you will encounter DESIGN, too. The fabulous parking lot team DESIGNS our pick-up and drop-off each day, our Associate Director DESIGNS the chalk board message on the Welcome Walk, and our campers DESIGN their ideal camp day, every day through their daily Choice Activities. The more you look, the more you will see intentional DESIGN at BDC. Last week at camp, campers competed to win the Green & White Day Trophy and the title of Camp Champions! Each activity was DESIGNED to foster teamwork, communication, good spirit, and fun! In addition, our youngest campers DESIGNED sea shell sculptures with Ellie at ECOD and our oldest campers DESIGNED games to play with their tent groups down at MUGS. At BDC, our staff works hard intentionally DESIGN the camp day so that it is full of Courage, Hope, Good Spirit, and Peace!

This week is Tie-Dye Week! Every camper at BDC will have the opportunity to tie-dye a BDC shirt, which is provided by the camp. This Friday, the entire camp will celebrate our DESIGNS by wearing our tie-dye creations! I am excited to see what you will DESIGN!

The goal of a designer is to listen, observe, understand, sympathize, empathize, synthesize, and glean insight that enables him or her
to make the invisible visible.
