May Expansion Update  


We are incredibly excited to share that our construction manager  CTA has made fantastic process with respect to the site-work. In particular there has been dramatic progress with respect to drainage, building the roadway and parking lot. The foundation forms are arriving and we anticipate that digging will begin towards the middle of this week!

50/50 Raffle

Ticket sales for our 50/50 Raffle are now on sale!   The more tickets sold the larger the prize grows. One lucky person will win BIG taking home 50% of the value of all ticket sales! The other 50% of the sales will benefit the pre-construction costs for the gymnasium and the playgrounds at our new school.

Raffle tickets have been sent home with all students and additional tickets are available in the Central Office.  Tickets are priced at $5 each, c ompleted tickets and payment can be submitted to the front office by June 1st to be entered into the drawing.  Checks should be made payable to the "Benjamin Franklin Educational Foundation."  Sales close at 2pm on June 2nd.  The winner will be drawn on June 11th.  
 
We are hoping that each student and staff member can either buy, or sell four raffle tickets for this fundraiser. If everyone can meet this goal we will be able to raise a minimum of $5,000!  

Community Yard Sale

We will be holding a  Community Yard Sale and Vendor Fair  on June 2nd.    Only twenty booths remain at this time, please invite your friends and favorite local vendors to participate by reserving a space  here !  

The event will include a  Bake Sale to generate additional money for the gymnasium and playgrounds.  If you'd like to provide treats or coffee for the bake sale, or work a shift at the bake sale table  please sign up here.

Of course we hope that you'll drop by the event on June 2nd to shop for some bargain hunting meet some small local businesses and support the school! If you're on Facebook please consider like, sharing, or inviting your friends to the event.  We're also looking for help making and posting signage to promote the event.  Please contact Joanne Basile or Megan Moussa if you can assist!    
Capital Campaign Committee

The newly formed Capital Campaign Committee is working on a number of upcoming fundraising events and activities to support the construction costs for the new gymnasium and two playgrounds at our new location.

At this time the team has discussed a wide range of exciting events, so  please stay tuned for details as the various events approach.At this time sub-committees are forming to support the following events.  Please contact the project leads as outlined below for more information:   

Brick & Bench Sale - Oscar Colon and Lisa Ferdenzi have volunteered to lead this legacy project for the school and are looking for volunteers to join their team.  Please contact Oscar or Lisa if you are able to assist.  

Auction/Gala - Shonna Gaul has volunteered to organize a fundraising gala for parents in the Fall of 2018.  Shonna is already investigating potential dates and venues.  A large number of parent volunteers will be needed to help organize this event. Please contact Shonna if you can help 

Mattress Fundraiser- Amy Gillman is coordinating a Mattress Fundraiser for the Fall of 2018. If you're in need of a new mattress, we encourage you to hold off till the fall to buy one with us!  This program offers premium brand mattresses at a fraction of the cost AND all purchases benefit the BFEF!
