Phase 2B, 2E & 2C Volume 4 | December 11, 2017
Brownsburg High School's renovation and expansion project is expected to be completed in June of 2020. We will continue to send updates to families who have children in Brownsburg Schools in grades 7-12, to BCSC staff, and to anyone who has subscribed through our website. These emails will be sent quarterly to provide information specific to each phase of the project, focusing on areas that impact students and their daily routines at Brownsburg High School.

The work in Phases 1B and 2B is wrapping up over Winter Break. Phase 2C will begin after the first of the year and, along with Phase 2E, will continue through spring. The extensive work of Phase 3A begins at spring break. Read on for more details.
Overview of Phases 1B, 2A, 2B, 2E, 3C, & 3A
WHAT:  Since the beginning of the school year, construction activities has continued behind temporary walls in the main part of the high school building. Work on the northeast side of the building for classroom space for physical education, health and performing arts is more visible and continues to progress.

  • Phase 1B - This phase will be completed in the coming days with the new heating, cooling, and electrical facility providing service to all parts of the building throughout the project and future phases.

  • Phase 2B - After Winter Break, students and teachers will be utilizing 21 new and renovated classrooms in the section that were under construction in the first semester. This completed phase also includes expanded corridors and a locker commons up and downstairs.

  • Phase 2E – Work on the classroom space for physical education, health and performing arts will continue into the spring of 2018.

WHY: The core of the Brownsburg High School building has been relatively unchanged since it opened in 1971. With 13 additions over the last 46 years, the infrastructure of the building is in dire need of an upgrade. These upgrades will accommodate technology needs for teachers and students that weren't in place in 1971 and maintain a comfortable learning environment with updates to the aging HVAC system.
