WHAT:
Since the beginning of the school year, construction activities have been moving along behind temporary walls in the main part of the high school building. Work on the northeast side of the building for the wrestling gym and band and guard rooms is more visible and continues to progress.
- Phase 1B - A new heating, cooling, and electrical facility is being constructed in the area around the current cafeteria. The construction of this space is nearly completed and will make it possible to maintain services to all parts of the building throughout the project and facilitate future phases.
- Phase 2B - Extensive renovation work continues for the next few weeks in this area through the end of the fall semester. Students quickly adapted to the new traffic patterns to access the Media Center and the south east corner of the building by the Media Center. This area will be completed and reopened for the second semester in January. (bottom photo)
- Phase 2E – Work on the new wrestling, weight, and band/guard area will continue into the spring of 2019. Steel beams and block walls have been erected in last couple weeks with much progress being made during a warm September. (top photo)
WHY: The core of the Brownsburg High School building has been relatively unchanged since it opened in 1971. With 13 additions over the last 46 years, the infrastructure of the building is in dire need of an upgrade. These upgrades will accommodate technology needs for teachers and students that weren't in place in 1971 and maintain a comfortable learning environment with updates to the aging HVAC system.

Phase 2A – July 2017 - COMPLETED
