Phase 1B, Volume 1 | February 27, 2017
Brownsburg High School's renovation and expansion project is expected to be completed in June of 2020.  We will continue to send updates to families who have children in Brownsburg Schools in grades 6-12, to BCSC staff, and to anyone who has subscribed through our website.  These emails will be sent quarterly to provide information specific to each phase of the project, focusing on areas that impact students and their daily routines at Brownsburg High School.

The next phase will provide a more visible sign that construction is underway.   Encourage other interested parties to subscribe to these emails by clicking the button below.
Overview of Phase 1B
WHAT:  Phase 1B constructs a new heating, cooling, and electrical facility in the area around the current cafeteria. The construction of this space, beginning over Spring Break, will make it possible to maintain services to all parts of the building throughout the project and facilitate future phases.  It requires the closing of the Sandwich Shoppe and the south bus staging area. This will shift most of the school bus pick up and drop off to the current Sycamore Street student parking area. Special Education school bus pick up and drop off will now occur near door #5.

WHY:  The core of the Brownsburg High School building has been relatively unchanged since it opened in 1971.  With 13 additions over the last 46 years, the infrastructure of the building is in dire need of an upgrade.  These upgrades will accommodate technology needs for teachers and students that weren't in place in 1971 and maintain a comfortable learning environment with updates to the aging HVAC system.

COMPLETION DATE FOR PHASE 1B:
December 2017
Impact Areas - after March 1 through May 2017

  • Possible Services Affected
No services will be affected during school days, but there may be intermittent service interruptions over Spring Break as wiring is being relocated in advance of summer work.  Anyone using the facility at the time of the outages will be notified.
