A new European study suggests a possible link between aspirin and age-related macular degeneration, notes a Jan. 5, 2012 report by HealthDay Reporter Alan Mozes that was posted on the US News & World Report website. Full article


Are Herbal Medicines for Osteoarthritis Effective?
Most herbal medicines appear to be ineffective in relieving the pain of osteoarthritis, according to a HealthDay News story posted on Jan. 11 about a study reviewed in this month's Drugs and Therapeutics Bulletin. The study also found that some herbal medicines can interfere with prescription drugs. Full article

Bridle Brook Offers "Hot to Trot" Indoor Walking

Older adults can walk in the indoor comfort of the Bridle Brook assisted living and memory care community in Mahomet, Illinois, at 9 a.m. on weekdays. Free hearing tests and an Alzheimer's Support Group are available monthly at the community. Full Story
