Simergent - The company is developing an automated dialysis device and disposable tubing set that uses gravity to automatically administer the dialysis process to the patient at night while they are asleep. A provisional patent has been filed on device features which focus on specific needs for emerging markets such as cost, low-literacy levels, and rural use environment. Their target device cost is 50-80% less expensive than current devices on the market, enabling automated dialysis to expand into regions that previously couldn't afford it. They are currently in the prototyping phase.
