FROM THE CEO
Chester Kennedy Headshot

We've had a busy start to the new year with the recent announcement of our new name and the opening of our brand new facility quickly approaching.

With the opening of our facility, we’re entering a new phase of this project that will transform our region, state, and nation’s economy, giving us a competitive advantage over advanced, nano-scale manufacturing centers around the globe. BRIDG stands ready to serve as the magnet to attract and grow advanced manufacturing smart sensor developments over time in an environment where industry can test technology before it goes into mass production.

We are poised to inspire and forge tomorrow's emerging technologies and look forward to working with all of you as we prepare to open our doors in a few short weeks at NeoCity in Osceola County, Fla.

NEW IN SENSORS
Showcasing BRIDG at Photonics West 2017
Photonics West, the world's largest photonics and laser event sponsored by SPIE, showcased Florida's commitment to the technology industry.

Thank you to those who attended Photonics West 2017 and visited the BRIDG booth located within the Florida Photonics Cluster section of the exhibits floor. We were excited to showcase our new brand at the flagship event for companies in the optics and laser industry where companies unveil newest innovations and make connections.

The thing that always amazes us about this massive conference is how many of the truly world-class companies featured have strong ties to Central Florida - some combination of the company founder having been educated here, the company getting its start here (often in an incubator), or the company operating and growing here in Central Florida. There is no doubt in our minds about that trend continuing as we move forward in the next inflection in the photonics industry - what many refer to as Silicon Integrated Photonics. In this era for smart sensors and other leading-edge applications, the photonics elements will be closely integrated with other functions on the same silicon (or advanced material) substrate.

BRIDG's foundry achieving operational status right here in the heartland of the photonics industry in 2017 will be a significant enabler for accelerating those great innovative ideas into the market.
FACILITY UPDATE
New, State-of-the-Art Facility Opening March 2017
BRIDG Facility
BRIDG will open its new state-of-the-art facility at the end of March. The 109,000-square-foot facility will be one of the most advanced fabrication labs in the world for sensors and imagers. In this facility, members/partners have the opportunity to share equipment and conduct research needed to profitably access the next-generation sensor and imager economy. Nothing short of an engineering marvel, this new facility is unprecedented in bringing together the materials, equipment, and metrology to address all levels of industry challenges in a collaborative and inspiring environment.

Economies of scale will be realized using the robust, cost-effective domestic manufacturing infrastructure. This will result in substantial growth for the United States economy and will attract and grow significant advanced manufacturing research.
