Sermon: "Reading of the Will"
Scripture: Psalm 16, 1 Peter 1:3-9

"Who am I? This or the other?
Am I one person to-day and to-morrow another?
Am I both at once? A hypocrite before others,
and before myself a contemptibly woebegone weakling?
Or is something within me still like a beaten army,
fleeing in disorder from victory already achieved?

Who am I? They mock me, these lonely questions of mine.
Whoever I am, Thou knowest, O God, I am Thine!"

~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer

The Faiths of Our Neighbors: Speaker Series at MIPC
9:15am, A-B classroom (begins this Sunday April 23)
We are privileged to live in an amazingly diverse region, here in Puget Sound. You only have to drive 30 or 45 minutes from our church's doorstep to reach faith communities from all the major religions of our world! And this spring, we have a unique opportunity. We are welcoming speakers from each of the major world religions to come to MIPC and teach us about their faiths. We will have representatives and faith leaders joining us from:

* Muslim Association of Puget Sound (MAPS - Redmond)
* Island Synagogue (an Orthodox Jewish community on Mercer Island)
* Seattle Buddhist Temple
* Gurudwara Sikh Center of Seattle (in Bothell)
* Lakshmi Venkateswara Temple (a Hindu temple in Redmond)

What are the basic tenets of Islam? Why do Sikhs wear turbans? What sets Orthodox Judaism apart? So many questions! Mark your calendar now to come and discover the Faiths of our Neighbors. The complete schedule may be viewed here.
