I t has been a very busy spring for the Business Transition Alliance. 

In this issue of  "Connections & Solutions"  you'll find highlights from a marketing and networking session we hosted for business owners and our associates, as well as a transition workshop we put on for the Ontario Motor Coach Association and the Ontario School Bus Association at the Ontario Transportation Expo. You'll also read about two special events that are coming up in June. 

Our mandate at the Business Transition Alliance is to make owners' lives better  by helping them transition their business successfully - financially and emotionally.

The Radical Sales Shift

On April 5th we held a special presentation for business owners who want to "Reinvent Their Revenue Engine!"

Driving Value

On April 25th we were invited to present a Business Transition workshop for owners at the Ontario Transportation Expo 

"Value Drivers are Rooted in Organizational Routines"

As business owners begin the inevitable process of transitioning their business.... whether that means selling the business outright, handing it off to family members or perhaps just stepping back and providing a guiding hand....they ultimately have to come to terms with what truly drives the value of their business.

Three Tips When Transitioning Your Business
  • Ensure that the shares of your company qualify for the lifetime capital gains exemption (LCGE). 
  • If you expect the value of the business to increase, consider reorganizing the company.
  • When you sell your business, consider donating some proceeds to a registered charity.
