Our kids are trying to kill me.

Haha- okay, not really, but it certainly has a dramatic affect doesn't it?  The first part of this year was a busy one, and I don't mind telling you that I have been so very grateful for the overriding calm of the last month.  I've discovered that life is not going to slow down, so I have to slow myself down a bit.  The first half of the year was lots of fun with everything from an anniversary vacation to our son's wedding, from a family vacation to Disney with 6 of our 7 children and all of their attachments to a training conference on how to get Juan under control.  Now I've been living in the eye of the storm, but in July it will get crazy again for the rest of the year.  Another wedding.  Cousin's Camp.  Two retreats.  A new grandbaby.  Holidays.

In other words, it's a wonderful life!  I mean really, who could ask for more?  Who would have time or room for more?  Haha!  So, let's have fun in the studio and on retreat when we can, shall we?  Opportunities are limited these days, so best to take advantage when you can.  Remember that studio hours are no longer available for purchase, and any hours that you have are good through May 31, 2018.
June and July

WIP Week and Food Drive-  It's that time of year again- the time of year that kids are out of school, and food banks are working hard to help families in need.  Come to the studio to work on your Works In Progress, and in the process help families in our community.  The cost?  Just 2 pounds of nonperishable food donations for each hour of studio time.  No, I am not going to weigh your food or check your labels for weights- I trust your generosity.  Can't make it?  Why not donate to your local bank for every hour of sewing you get to do this week.  Do what you can within your reach, then reach a little further.  We may not be able to solve the world's problems, but we can make a difference in our own community.

Marathon Sew Along-  The end of July in Georgia is the time of year that we move quickly from our air conditioned house to our air conditioned car to the air conditioned store, and then back again!  So, how about we just hang out together and sew in the air conditioning and make a weekend of it!  The studio will be open from 9am to 9pm- 12 hours of studio time for the price of 6- for three days straight!  What can you get done in 36 hours? Sounds like a challenge, if you ask me!

Changes to the Studio...

-The studio is open for limited events.  It is possible to reserve the facility for your personal retreat or event.
-Membership hours will not be available for sale after May 31, 2017. Membership hours will still be valid for events and workshops taught by me through May 31, 2018.  As usual, they are not available for use with guest teachers.
-Monthly Membership has been discontinued.  It was a nice idea, but a non-starter, as they say.

What you will notice is that there are fewer events available each month, and after May 31, 2018, all events will have a flat fee.  To see a schedule of currently planned events, you can always check the calendar by clicking here.  I will still send emails that will also have info, but the best way to keep up on what's happening is to follow @thegreenapricot on Instagram or The Green Apricot on Facebook.
Do you Juan some help with that quilt?

Juan is a real character, and we have a lot of fun working together offering quilting services to our customers.  Want to see what we've been up to lately?  Follow us on Instagram (thegreenapricot) and/or Facebook (The Green Apricot).  On Instagram, check #juanthegammillcamel.

We know that every quilt is a diva, and that it wants what it wants, so we do our best to answer those demands.  Give us a try, and see what you think!
