September is National Preparedness Month
Hashtag   #NatlPrep

Throughout the month of September, there will be a number of activities scheduled across the country to promote emergency preparedness. In fact, some three-thousand separate organizations, on a national level, a regional level and a local level, will be out there supporting emergency preparedness. They'll also be encouraging people to be absolutely ready to take immediate action, should it be necessary.

Keep in mind, hurricane season is still very much in effect. It actually runs until the end of November. And historically speaking, September has proven to be the most severe month for hurricanes up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Be prepared, not scared.
Monday, September 5th, 2016 is Labor Day
Labor Day is a national holiday recognizing the American labor force. It's a federal holiday, so expect plenty of closures of national, regional and local offices. Mass transit systems will also be operating on a holiday schedule on Labor Day, so be sure to carefully check those time tables to accommodate your travel plans.
