3-4 pm: Heart Rate Variability Training to Enhance Psychotherapy

4-5 pm: New Advances in Remote Patient Monitoring for Therapy Enhancement
presented by Adam Pardes.
Goals
- Be able to list at least three potential technologies that mental health providers can use in the clinic or patients can use at home
- Be able to discuss what aspects of treatment have the most opportunity to be enhanced by the use of new technology as an adjunct to conventional approaches.
- Identify two clinical symptom presentations for which psychophysiological monitoring may be a useful intervention.
- Identify two clinical interventions in which psychophysiological monitoring techniques can be incorporated
- List three different forms of biofeedback training that qualify for board certification.

Kristin Van Doren, Psy.D., BCB
is a licensed clinical psychologist, who works with individuals ages 3 and older who are coping with life changes; including illness, death, and divorce. Dr. Van Doren is BCIA certified in general biofeedback, which she uses in conjunction with traditional therapy techniques to help individuals manage anxiety, trauma, and medical issues.

Adam Pardes, COO NeuroFlow
, is a published scientific researcher with extensive experience in academic settings and leading SaaS-based product growth. After earning a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering at Tufts University, he enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania to complete a doctoral degree in bioengineering. He’s spent the last three years in various operations and analytics roles at high-growth startups and now serves as COO and co-founder of NeuroFlow, a HIPAA-compliant, cloud-based platform that empowers health care providers to objectively assess, track, and engage patients using evidence-based practices to support their mental health. NeuroFlow is currently being used by innovative mental health clinicians, hospital systems and researchers across the country."

ngelika Sadar, M.A., BCN-HRV
is a psychologist that has been in private practice since 1987. Since 2001, she has incorporated biofeedback in her practice as an adjunct to psychotherapy. Most recently, she has partnered with BrainARC Switzerland to introduce Evoked Potential analyses as means of assessing brain functioning. She is the Executive Director of the Northeast Region Biofeedback Society and consults with numerous clinicians and clinics as they embark on developing their assessment and neurofeedback skills.
