Slow Food is a non-profit member supported International movement, founded in 1989 to counter the rise of fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local food traditions and people's dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes and how our food choices affect the rest of the world. |

Terra Madre is an international gathering that happens every two years in Torino, Italy. We are calling out to Local Farmers & Food Producers in our Region to complete the application process. All applicants are reviewed by a committee at Slow Food USA. No former applicants will be accepted to allow new attendees to experience this event. Slow Food Philly will assist in the decision process, but we are not the ones who make the final decisions. If you are accepted you are responsible for airfare (our chapter will assist if necessary) and lodging and transportation during the event are all prearranged and taken care of by funds raised by Slow Food International. Terra Madre is held along with Salone del Gusto which is open to the public and we will provide more information regarding this event when it gets posted on their website.
Terra Madre Applications Are Due April 1st
Help us spread the word! Tell your members, networks, and everyone you know that Terra Madre/Salone del Gusto and International Congress will be in Turin, Italy on October 25- 29, 2012. This is an amazing opportunity to connect with and celebrate the international communities that are feeding the planet with good, clean, and fair food.
Apply to be a U.S. delegate! The deadline is April 1st. Best of luck!
Please note that you should receive a confirmation email after you submit an application. If you don't, please email Hnin@slowfoodusa.org.
