GOVERNOR HOGAN VISTS BAIS YAAKOV
On Tuesday, December 13 th , Governor Larry Hogan came to visit Bais Yaakov. The students excitedly prepared signs and banners welcoming the governor. The program began with Rabbi Zweig welcoming the Governor, followed by Rabbi Ariel Sadwin. Bais Yaakov, Bnos Yisroel, and Cheder Chabad each had a representative speak on behalf of their school, thanking the Governer for the BOOST program. Rabbi Michoel Berkowitz, spoke on behalf of the parents about having Hakaros Hatov to the Governor for instituting the BOOST program. Mrs. Elizabeth Green then introduced Governor Larry Hogan.  The Governor spoke about the BOOST program and his recent trip to Israel. He then announced  exciting news that for the first time he will be increasing the budget allocation for the BOOST program from $5 million up to $10 million over the next three years.
ROSH CHODESH KISLEV
One of the goals in the Middle School is our desire to sensitize our young ladies to think of others and bring smiles to the faces of those who are less fortunate. In honor of Rosh Chodesh Kislev, Thursday, December 1 st the entire Middle School fanned out to ten different nursing homes throughout the neighborhood. The girls decorated flowers and played bingo with the residents.

THE LAMED TES MELACHOS COME ALIVE
Thanks to the creative efforts of Mrs. Michal Tessler, two of our Sixth Grade classes observed a demonstration of the melachos of דש & זורה.  Wheat was actually threshed in front of their eyes as they stomped on the kernels and then winnowed them with the help of a fan. Thank you Mrs. Tessler for "blowing life" into the halachos of Shabbos
ANNUAL CHANUKA TOY DRIVE
G'mach recently broke out their Annual Chanukah Toy Drive.  Another one of our goals is to educate our Middle Schoolers to think of those children who may be less fortunate and provide them with toys for Chanukah. The grades are competing against each other and trying to fill up their respective boxes with playful toys. The class who brings in the most toys will earn themselves a pizza lunch. Let the fun begin!
