SECOND GRADE CHUMASH SIYUM
Morah Weinberger's Second Grade class finished learning  Breishis Perek Gimmel in  Chumash .  To celebrate the completion of the  perek , the girls were treated to a delicious chocolate cake decorated with a picture of a snake and "Mazel Tov Perek Gimmel"!

ELEMENTARY PTA AT SMITH AVENUE CAMPUS
For the first time, both divisions of the Elementary school hosted PTA conferences at the Smith Avenue campus in the Middle School building. This was welcomed by both parents and faculty. Everyone enjoyed adequate parking, easy access to all teachers in one room, short lines and a pleasant evening! Thank you to the many parents who came out to hear about their daughters progress and to those who came over to share their endorsement of this move. We look forward to affording our parent body a positive PTA experience again in the future. We also express special appreciation to Rabbi Hexter for giving us the opportunity to use the facility and for making the necessary arrangements.

AVODAS KAYITZ ASSEMBLY
We recently had an opportunity to acknowledge students in our Second Grade for  their initiative in reviewing their Limudei Kodesh summer homework. This program is affectionately known as Avodas Kayitz and has been a staple of our Bais Yaakov Elementary for the past 23 years.  See the letter below for how it all began way back in 1993! This week, we will also host the General Studies program and recognize those students who made the effort to review their language arts and math skills over the summer. Those girls who completed the entire packet over the summer months will receive a certificate and a colored pinwheel pen.  We encourage all students to join this program as we look forward to the upcoming summer.

FIRST GRADE BRACHOS UNIT
Catch a glimpse of the varied activities which were evident this past month in Morah Kruger's first grade class. During the month of Marcheshvan, the first grade focused on reviewing the various brachos we say. Please encourage your daughter to say her brachos out loud so everyone can answer "Amen".

KINDERGARTEN BRACHOS REVIEW
Our Kindergarten girls used all of their senses to learn and review different types of foods and their brachos.  We saw creative vegetable "Potato Heads" creations, smelled and listened to delicious popcorn popping, shared a healthy fruit salad and baked scrumptious challah.  What a fun way to learn!

NURSERY BRACHOS TOUR
After learning each of their brachos on food over the last several weeks, our Nursery classes went on their first field trip visiting the various food establishments around town to review their lessons.

Our students started their Brachos Tour with a school bus trip to Seven Mile Market where the girls used their spy glasses to search for various foods and their respective brachos.  They found Mezonos food, Ha'adomoh vegetables and Shehakol Shabbos candy treats, and covered all of the brachos in one store! They then stopped at the Knish Shop and Shlomo's Fish Store for a peek into their fares before ending their tour with a Ha'Motzi lunch of pizza slices at Eden Cafe in the Park Heights JCC. Such fun and adventure to bring their learning to life! Thank you to our Bais Yaakov PTA for generously sponsoring the bus and pizza for our girls.
