Williston Economic Development participated in the Bakken Conference and Expo in Watford City earlier this week. The exhibitors and presenters agreed the Bakken is recovering from its 2-year slump and new technologies could improve production in the near future.

Williston Herald - Despite North Dakota's prominence on the national drone scene, just two companies in the state have the necessary certifications for oil field work. One of them, SkySkopes was among panelists attending the Bakken Conference and Oil Expo's pre-conference event to talk about pioneering efforts they have partnered with Hess and Neset Consulting to do. DMV offers New Kiosks at Cash Wise in Williston, Dickinson
News Release - The North Dakota Department of Transportation has expanded the Motor Vehicle renewal Self Service Terminals at two new locations in Dickinson and Williston. The kiosks are located inside the Cash Wise in Dickinson and Cash Wise in Williston. Read More
Black Hills Trucking donates $25,000 to New Birthing Center

News Release - Black Hills Trucking has generously donated $25,000 to purchase a Panda Warmer for the birth place currently under construction at CHI St. Alexius Health Williston. A check presentation ceremony was held recently at the hospital.
Williston-Gonzaga Summer Internship Program celebrates 6th Anniversary

Williston Herald - Students from out-of-state have spent the summer living and working in the Bakken, thanks to a program from Williston State College. A partnership with Gonzaga University in Washington brings students to Williston to intern in a variety of different fields. On Wednesday, the students and their employers gathered at Williston State College for an informal summer social. News Release - Senator John Hoeven announced that six students - Chelsea Brandt, Paige Hill, Ian Kalil, Theodore Milk, Judson Mork and Isabella Sogard - are interning in his Washington, D.C. office this summer. Two other students are interning in his state offices: McKenna Arledge in Bismarck and Lauren Wenaas in Fargo. Senator Hoeven's internship program provides college students and recent graduates with the opportunity to work with the senator and his staff on legislative, communications and administrative projects. Family Dollar Store planned in Parshall
Mountrail County Record - It won't be long and Parshall residents will have a new shopping option in town.  Recently the Parshall City Council approved a building permit for a Family Dollar Store that will be built on part of the parcel occupied by the Parshall RV Park. VIA Real Estate from Lubbock, Texas plans to open the store. Read More

Fund Drive raises nearly $100,000 for Watford City's Tornado Disaster Relief
KEYZ Radio - A local fundraising drive organized by McKenzie County Emergency Management and KEYZ News Radio to benefit tornado victims and their families has raised nearly $100,000. McKenzie County Emergency Manager Karolin Jappe says the three bank accounts accepting donations on behalf of Watford City Tornado Relief have nearly $94,000 as of Wednesday morning.  Read More
Watford City to be featured on PBS Program
Travels with Darley toured the Watford City area in June.
McKenzie County Job Development Authority - Watford City and its surrounding attractions will be featured on an upcoming Travels with Darley episode. Darley Newman, host of the show, and her crew of technical experts spent four days visiting the people and places of McKenzie County in late June. Her visits included the Little Missouri National Grasslands, Theodore Roosevelt National Park, interactions with Native American culture, and various amenities of the area.
