Thank you to all who attended the first Ballard Performing Arts Booster General Meeting! During the meeting, the directors gave presentations and discussed the invaluable support the Booster Club provides Ballard Performing Arts. Board members presented a broad overview of the BPA program. If you missed it, here is a link to the presentation.

Marching Band Practice Times:

September 23rd 
Football Game at Memorial Stadium
The BHS Marching Band will be performing in the stands at the BHS vs. West Seattle HS  Football game at Memorial Stadium. Call time is 5:15 PM at BHS.  Yearbook photos will be taken prior to game departure. 
Celebrate our Seniors
All senior families are invited to come to the football game to celebrate Senior Band Night with their senior and have their picture taken with Mr. James.


Autumn Leaf Parade Leavenworth, WA
Come celebrate the fall colors and see our Marching Band this Saturday 
 in Leavenworth, WA!
Call time is 7:00 AM and estimated return time is 6:00 PM

ASB Card Requirement:
All band students must purchase the $35 ASB card. Please buy before 
 September 30th.

All-State/All NW Honor Group Auditions
Students wishing to audition must be recorded by Friday, Sept 30th

Master Classes at Seattle JazzED
There are six one-day Master Classes on Saturday afternoons in October and November, including an incredible, probably once-in-a-lifetime class, with  Dave Douglas and  The Westerlies on improvisation and creativity.  Click  Seattle JAZZed Master Class Series for more information.   Scholarships available.

Choir
Choir Camp Recap

Choir Camp 2016 was a huge success!  Congratulations to Advanced Chorale and Concert Choir for a wonderful weekend of music making.  Also, 
a big thank you to all of our chaperones and parent volunteers 
who helped to make the weekend a success:  
Joan Rice, Ann Selberg, Pat McDonagh, Tyson Brown, Sylas Brown, Nikki Nuen, Theresa Theis, Regan Froelich, Russ Simonson, Page Harader, Krista Carreiro, Tim Harader.  A special thank you to Jill Hansen for her tireless work keeping up with the paperwork. We couldn't have done it without you!

Thank you all for auditioning. This is a small cast due to the speedy nature of putting the show up in one month. Please do not be discouraged if you do not find your name on the cast list. Auditions for LES MISERABLES are the end of November - start preparing, it will be a much larger cast! - Riley.

Orchestra
Orchestra Camp Is This Weekend! 
The 2016 Annual Choir Camp will be held 
at Camp Burton on Vashon Island.
Students must be in the parking lot by 3:30 PM on Friday afternoon 
Return time approximately 2:00 PM on Sunday

Student Fundraising
Chinooks Books are Coming!
Chinook products contain hundreds of coupons for local businesses. They come in a printed book, as an app, or a combo of both. Pricing info here.  This fundraiser is open to all BPA students. A portion of the sales profit will be deposited into each student's  individual ASB account to be used toward annual fees, camps and trips. 

Sale Dates are October 3 - 14
Product check out & money drop off will be available every day after school during the sale  until 3:35 PM , in the room off to the left of the auditorium lobby. All monies and unsold Chinook Book products must be returned by Oct 14th.

Spotlight Gala
Saturday, November 19th 
Save the date for the Ballard Performing Arts largest fundraiser of the year! The Spotlight Gala Dinner and Auction will be held November 19th at 6:00pm at the Leif Ericson Lodge. 
To find out more about this event and how you can help, please come to the October 11th BPA General Meeting in the BHS Library at 7:30 PM.  We are currently looking for volunteers to help with follow up phone calls to people who have offered donations.  Questions?   Please contact the Spotlight Team at  [email protected]
