Yearbook Class Photos for Sale: The class photos taken for the yearbook are in and hanging in the classrooms. Proofs will be available to look at and order at the next booster meeting January 30th, and the spaghetti dinner on February 3rd. $10 for each 8X10 photo, cash or check. Solo & Ensemble Prep
Saturday, January 27th
, Women's Chamber Choir, Men's Ensemble, and Vocal Jazz will have an opportunity to work with PLU faculty in order to help prepare for the upcoming Solo and Ensemble festival. This coaching will take place at Kamiak High School in Mukilteo. Students are responsible for getting themselves to and from this event and are encouraged to carpool.

, all voice students who are participating in Solo and Ensemble will sing at a recital in the Performing Arts Center. Students can sign up for either the
recital. All families are encouraged to attend and support our singers as they prepare for Solo and Ensemble.

at Seattle Pacific University. The schedule will be released shortly. All families of participating students are encouraged to attend and listen to their students!

Chamber Orchestra Preview Concert: Please join the Chamber Orchestra for a preview concert of their performance of the Shostakovich Chamber Symphony,
op. 110a. Show time is Monday, February 26th at 7:30 pm in the Black Box Theater. Help us send this fabulous group off to NYC for their performance and tour; they leave for Lincoln Center on Wednesday, February 28th!

Congratulations to Jazz 1 for being selected to participate in the 2018 Next Generation Jazz Festival in Monterey, CA! Held
March 8-11, 2018, more details about this exciting trip will be announced next week. In the meantime, Jazz 1 students should save the dates and parents, please consider being a chaperone for this fun festival.
Please invite your family and friends to the Wind Ensemble's WMEA Performance Preview Concert on Tuesday, February 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. We hope to "pack the PAC" to help our students prepare for this prestigious honor. Selected through a competitive audition process, the Wind Ensemble will play pieces from Ticheli, Oquin and Mackey during the WMEA Concert Hour. As the first SPS high school band to ever perform at the state conference, this is a huge honor for Mr. James, the Wind Ensemble and Ballard High School!
Wind Ensemble Families please note: Following the preview concert, we will hold a parent meeting to discuss the WMEA travel itinerary and answer questions.

The Marching Band will welcome potential students and their families to the BHS Open House on February 8 with a short performance in the gym. Call time is 6:00 p.m. as Band members will be in the full marching band uniforms, including the black band t-shirt and long black socks. The performance will begin at 6:30 p.m. and students will be dismissed at 7:00 p.m.
Parent volunteers are needed to help with the uniform distribution and return. Please sign up here if you can help us for an hour!
