Fall Choral Festival and SoCal Trip

Concert Choir: On Tuesday, November 14th, Concert Choir will attend the Western Washington University Fall Invitational Choral Festival in Bellingham. Students will wear full concert dress and meet at BHS at 6:45am. They should either bring a lunch or bring money to eat in the Student Union. We will return to BHS near the end of the school day.

They are one of 8 choirs from across the state to be invited to this event. While there, Concert Choir will have the opportunity to perform and receive an on-stage clinic from Dr. Angela Broeker of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Dr. Broeker is highly regarded in the choral work, and we look forward to working with her!

The Laramie ProjectDecember 1st and 2nd at 7:30 pm. In remembrance of the 20th anniversary of the death of Matthew Shepard, the BHS Thespians and friends will perform this powerful and timely work on World AIDS Day. Author Moises Kauffman and his theatre group went to Laramie, Wyoming and conducted over 100 interviews with the townspeople, friends, and family of Matthew. This play is their account of what happened leading up to the frightening day when Matthew was found beaten to death and tied to a fence in freezing temperatures.
As with the performances of Rent last year, this year's production will be a benefit for YOUTHCARE'S ORION CENTER - an organization on Capitol Hill that assists LGBTQ youth who are in need of shelter and support.
