Music Ensemble Picture Day: BPA Music Picture Day is Thursday, December 14th during the school day. All band, choir, and orchestra students need to have on full concert attire including dress shoes.
Please note:  All uniforms MUST go back home after school on Thursday. If uniforms are not taken back home students will be charged a $5.00 storage fee.
 
Schedule for Pictures:
  • 0 period: Jazz I, Jazz II, Vocal Jazz, Women's Chamber Choir
  • 1st period: Concert Choir, Symphonic Band, Chamber Orchestra, Men's Ensemble
  • 2nd period: Fiddle Ensemble, Symphonic Orchestra, Wind Ensemble
  • 3rd period: Advanced Chorale, Percussion
  • 4th period: Treble Choir

NYC Preview Concert & DY Pit Orchestra Update

Well done, and thank you to all who made the orchestra concert last night a holiday delight! The students have worked so diligently this fall to make their music ring out!


Chamber Orchestra Preview Concert: Please join Chamber Orchestra for a preview concert of their performance of the Shostakovich Chamber Symphony, op. 110a on Monday, February 26th at 7:30 pm in the Black Box Theater. Help us send this fabulous group off to NYC for their performance and tour; they leave Wednesday February 28th!


Damn Yankees (DY)Pit Orchestra Results: Please stay tuned - we are waiting on the arrival of the score to assign parts. We hope to have results posted before Winter Break.

Concerts & Caroling 

Men's Ensemble & Women's Chamber Choir will join the Seattle SeaChordsmen for their annual holiday concert on Saturday, December 9th at the 2:00 pm show only, held at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church 7500 Greenwood Ave N. Tickets are available here.
Call Time:  Noon for performers 

Vocal Jazz Caroling Day: Tuesday, December 12th Vocal Jazz will be spreading holiday cheer throughout Ballard, Queen Anne, and Magnolia on our annual Caroling Day! See the schedule below in case you'd like to stop by one of the venues. We are looking for approximately 5 parent drivers to join us for this fun and inspiring day.

See You Tonight!
The Winter Band Concert is tonight at  7:30 p.m.  Please note the bands will not be seated in the auditorium for this evening's performances allowing for more seating for our guests.  

Guest will also be able to view the proof of the Marching Band photo and order at  the  concert.  Photos are $10 for an 8 X 10 with checks payable to Rowland Studios.

Call time is  7:00 p.m. for the Jazz and Symphonic Bands as they will perform prior to intermission.  Call time is  7:30 p.m. for the Wind Ensemble who will perform after intermission.  Select musicians will then combine with the Orchestra and Choir for the Grand Finale.

Pep Band Tomorrow!
The first Pep Band performance is tomorrow,  Friday, Dec 8 with a call time of  6:30 p.m.  Students must wear their black band t-shirt in order to perform.

What's New?
January 19 - Wind Ensemble with Dr. Taylor of UBC from  3:45 to 5:45 p.m.
January 31* - Wind Ensemble "Retreat" at BHS to prepare for the WMEA Conference from  10:00 a.m. to  3:00 p.m.
