Thank you to our chaperones who spent the day with us and who helped drive our busy pit orchestra musicians back to school in time for rehearsal: Barb, Lucinda, Loy, Laura, Mara, Diane, Patricia, Marie, Karen and Jen.

Congratulations Jazz 1:  Jazz 1 represented Ballard well at the Next Generation Jazz Festival in Monterey over the weekend. Not only did the group have an Outstanding performance, but senior alto saxophonist Katie Webster was named one of six outstanding soloists! Bravo! A special thank you to chaperones Sarah and John Webster for accompanying the band on their trip, to the friends and family who made attended their performance, and to Patti Kashiwa for helping with the travel arrangements.

It's a "Snap" to Help Jazz 1 Get to New York:  We are proud of the national recognition Jazz 1 has received through their recent invitations to the Monterey Jazz Festival and Essentially Ellington in New York City. Such prestigious honors are not without expense. Please help us ensure all 20 students have the opportunity to perform in the Big Apple by making a donation - for any amount - to their online direct appeal campaign  here .  Thank you!

There are still tickets available to the event, but only through the Paramount Theatre. Ballard Performing Arts has sold all of our tickets to the event but general tickets are available. Students staying for the entire event need to purchase a ticket.
