NYC Debrief!!

We're in a New York state of mind!!
Chamber Orchestra was named FIRST RUNNER UP in The National Orchestra Cup, held on March 3rd in New York City's Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. Additionally, the violas won the award for best string section. The competition included both chamber orchestras and full orchestras from public, art magnet and private schools across the country.
Way to go Chamber Orchestra, we're proud of you!

A heartfelt "thank-you" goes out to Debbie Anderson, Sean Harvey, Steve Redpath, Eric and Karrie Sanderson, and Mary Lou Strauz for joining the group in NYC. Thank you to the parents who took photos and video. We could not have made this trip happen without your generosity, time and energy. Thank you!!

New Trip Information

On Their Way to Monterey:  Good luck to Jazz 1 as they leave for the 2018 Next Generation Jazz Festival in Monterey today. We wish them well as they compete in the High School Big Band division on Saturday!

EBMEA Information and Chaperone Request:  Permission slips for the EBMEA Music Festival at Chief Sealth H.S. on Tuesday, March 13th are due Friday, March 9th.
We will leave BHS at 9:30 am and return by 5:30 pm. Students must wear their concert attire and bring a sack lunch for this all day event.

We still need 5 more chaperones to travel with the band to the EBMEA Music Festival, including 2 parents willing to drive students in the musical back to BHS after their performance. If you are not familiar with this event, each band will have an adjudicated performance and receive feedback from music experts, as well as listen to other bands in our area. This is a fun, easy way to get involved in our program!

Please contact   Jen Witeck to volunteer today!

Whistler Trip Student ID: Does Your Student Have Proper ID?  Any student age 18 or older will need either a Passport or Passport Card to enter Canada by bus. The passport process may take 4-6 weeks so now is the time to apply if you have not done so already. More information may be found  here .

Students age 17 or under will need either an original or certified copy of their birth certificate, or a valid Passport or Passport Card.

Please note: For students and chaperones who already have a Passport, it must not expire within 6 months after the date of travel or entrance to Canada may be denied.
