Here's what you can't miss  at  the  Baltimore Book Festival Today...
  • 12-2PM: PEN/Faulkner Writers in Schools Program at the Literary Salon
    The Ivy Bookshop and the PEN/Faulkner Foundation host reading groups where Baltimore City school students discuss works by Baltimore authors. 

  • 1-2PM: Felicia Cooper, "The Girl Who Swallowed the Sun" at the Enoch Pratt Free Library Childrens Stage
    A 30-minute puppet show made entirely of repurposed materials to tell the story of a brave girl who swallows the sun in the midst of a town light bulb shortage.   

  • 2:30-3PM: National Aquarium Animal Encounter at the Paws & Pages Stage

  • 3-4PM: The Future of Science Fiction and Fantasy at the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America Stage 
    Genre bending fiction, new frontiers, self publishing. Science fiction and fantasy are quickly changing, so what is on the horizon?

  • 4-5PM: Rock the Podium: Powerful Youth Poets Unite at the Literary Salon 
    Baltimore’s Brave New Voices 2016 Youth Slam Champions will come together on one stage to bring their championship-winning poetic showcase to the Baltimore Book Festival

  • 5:30-6:30PM: Maryland SPCA Picks: Best Children and YA Pet Books at the Paws & Pages Stage
    Join Maryland SPCA Community Affairs Director Katie Flory, and her sidekick, spokesdog Lucy GaGa, the Boston Terrier as they discuss the best youth and young adult books on animal interest, rescue interest, shelter work and animal care.

  • 6-7PM: Bond Street District at the Music Stage Supported by WTMD
The Baltimore Book Festival is pleased to welcome back The Ivy Bookshop as the festival's official bookseller. The Ivy Bookshop features dozens of notable authors at their stage throughout Book Festival weekend, including  Jessica Anya Blau , author of The Trouble with Lexie, D. Watkins, author of The Cook Up: A Crack Rock Memoir and The Beast Side: Living (and Dying) While Black in America, and an artist blogger panel featuring Cara Ober of BmoreArt and Gabriella Souza of Baltimore Magazine.

The Baltimore Book Festival is a literary feast with gourmet eats! Check out our 100 percent local Maryland food and craft beverage vendors who will be catering to the masses all weekend long. Friday, don't miss demos and samplings from Zeke's Coffee at 11AM, Chef Titus of the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Hotel at 12:30PM, and Baltimore's own Chef Egg from 2-5PM at the Food for Thought Stage at Kaufman Pavilion.

The Story Share

New this year! The Story Share is a unique storytelling space dedicated to bringing people together to share their favorite stories and hear others. The Story Share features “Goodnight Moonlight Nightlight,” an art installation by Stewart Watson that doubles as a cozy reading space.The Story Share has programming and storytelling all weekend long from authors, Reading Partners (Friday) and Be Here: Baltimore (Sunday).

Maryland Romance Writers 

The Maryland Romance Writers present three days of the latest and greatest in romance fiction including some of the most fabulous authors in the business. Friday's schedule includes Book Cover Bingo and panel discussions "A Hero for All Seasons," "Young Adult Authors Chat," "Heroines Get Stuff Done" and "Hitting the Big Time: The Journey to Making the Lists - New York Times, USA Today, and the Wall Street Journal."
