Baltimore Comic-Con's Yearbook Returns in 2015 with David Petersen's Mouse Guard

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND - August 14, 2015 - The Baltimore Comic-Con's Yearbook returns in 2015, celebrating the creators appearing at the show taking place Friday, September 25th through Sunday, September 27th, 2015. This book of art features interpretations of characters from David Petersen's Mouse Guard, sometimes in conjunction with their own creations, in a celebration of creator-owned properties.

Beautifully designed by returning guest and Love and Capes creator Thom Zahler, the book comes in a standard and, for VIP ticketholders, a limited VIP cover edition.

Once again, our popular scavenger hunt returns in 2015! When you buy the book, you'll get a list of 60 Yearbook contributors and their table numbers. If you succeed in your hunt, you can get your choice of bonus prints!

Mouse Guard was first released as a self-published black and white issue #1 by David Petersen in May of 2005. Shortly thereafter the series was picked up by Archaia in color. Since then, 3 hardcover books in the main series have been released (Fall 1152, Winter 1152, and The Black Axe) written and illustrated by Petersen, as well as an anthology series of Mouse Guard tall tales and legends, with Petersen handpicking creators like Jeremy Bastian, Skottie Young, Gene Ha, Karl Kerschl, Terry Moore, Guy Davis, Stan Sakai, Bill Wilingham, Eric Canete, Ramon Perez, Mark Buckingham, and Becky Cloonan. Most recently, Archaia has released a 12" x 12" 368 page Art of Mouse Guard 2005-2015 hardcover collecting sketches, roughs, pencils, architectural models, scripts, and behind the scenes work for the last 10 years of Mouse Guard.

"The Baltimore Comic con is one of the few great comic shows where it feels like home because the creators are the focus," said David Petersen. "Marc Nathan has done a marvelous job of keeping the Baltimore con about that wonderful interaction between fans and the folks who make the books they like. I've been exhibiting at Baltimore since Mouse Guard was first published by Archaia, and it's not only wonderful to be back, but to have the spotlight shown on my book with the Yearbook is an amazing honor. The pieces artists and writers took their time to do for this book are something really, really special...I mean when else are you going to see a Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez or Frank Cho Mouse Guard piece?"

"I love Mouse Guard," said Marc Nathan, promoter of the Baltimore Comic-Con. "David Petersen is an amazingly talented individual. His storytelling is second-to-none and he comes with a very unique voice. His lush art is absolutely gorgeous, and is immediately recognizable as his own whenever you see it. He's a great friend of the show, a great person, and a great friend as well. We are so excited to honor his creation with the 2015 Yearbook, and the pieces we received are stunning with dramatic ranges in artistic stylings. Are you listening, art collectors? This year's auction is going to be fantastic -- start your bidding practice now to ensure you're in fighting shape come September!"
