Holy Week Worship Schedule
PALM SUNDAY, MARCH 25
Worship Services - 8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
The Sanctuary Choir, accompanied by guest instrumentalists, will perform special music including a heralding "Hosanna" composed by Jacquie Yost for the 11:00 a.m. service.
MAUNDY THURSDAY, MARCH 29
Worship Service at 6:45 p.m., Davis Hall
We will celebrate Maundy Thursday, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a meal and fellowship.  Worship will follow at 6:45 p.m. in the same space (Davis Hall).  Communion will be served by intinction.  Members of the Sanctuary Choir will lead music for the gathering with hymns and an anthem.  Please remember to make your reservations for the meal.
GOOD FRIDAY, MARCH 30
Stations of the Cross
First Presbyterian will join several other churches for a time of worship and contemplation as we walk together the "Stations of the Cross."  Walking through downtown, we will stop periodically to hear the story of Good Friday and join in prayer.  Stops include Memorial Garden and our FPC Sanctuary.  The "mobile" service begins at 3:30 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church (the corner of Chestnut and Tournament) and will end around 5:30 p.m.
EASTER SUNDAY, APRIL 1
Sunrise Service , Memorial Garden, 7:00 a.m.
Peter, Lynne, and Rachel will lead this service.  Please bring a folding chair or blanket as none will be provided.  After the service, you are invited to tour the garden and enjoy coffee in the Jones Yorke Room.  In case of rain, the service will be held in the sanctuary.
Flowered Cross Service
Sanctuary, 10:15 a.m.
We will celebrate the wonder and beauty of the resurrection in this service for families and children.  Remember to bring your flowers to place on the Flowered Cross.  Children are reminded to bring their One Great Hour of Sharing fish boxes.  There will no Sunday School classes or nurseries during this service.
Easter Worship Services
8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
At both services, members of the Sanctuary Choir and guest instrumentalists will gloriously supplement the uplifting message of the resurrection with festive anthems like "And I Saw a New Heaven," "Oh, Love That Will Not Let Me Go," and the triumphant "Hallelujah" from Messiah by Handel that the congregation will be invited to sing.  Communion will be served in the pews with trays.  A nursery for infants and children up to age 4 will be provided during both services.
Sanctuary Renovations
In recent months, the session has been saving and planning for a major refreshment and refurbishment of our beloved sanctuary. Work will include painting and plaster work, much-needed organ maintenance, and various electrical, lighting, and audio upgrades. A generous donation has also made possible the installation of a new restroom to serve the space, and our traditional pews will be removed, repainted, and refinished to look like new. From June through August, our worship services will be relocated to Davis Hall to accommodate this important work. Please stay tuned for more information as the summer approaches!
"Can You Hear Me Now?"
As part of our sanctuary work this summer, the session is considering an upgrade to our present hearing loop system. When in proper working order, a loop system carries an amplified signal to hearing aids that are equipped with "t-coil" technology. To aid the session in making this decision, we will hold a demonstration and test of the system on Tuesday, March 27th at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary.  All interested members are invited to attend. If you have difficulty getting good reception in the sanctuary with your hearing device, this would be a good opportunity to help us address this problem. Be advised, you may have to get your t-coil activated by your hearing specialist prior to this demonstration. If you have any questions or comments, please contact Bob Smith at [email protected]  or (704)786 4783.
