A Letter from the Cross Family
|
|
Dear Friends
It has been a great joy and privilege to be the Corps Officers at Tustin Ranch. This is "home" and we love each and everyone of you. You have been so instrumental in our ministry and influence on our family. We left for Officership from Tustin Ranch, came back when stationed at CFOT and now have had four great years with you - we are Boomerangs and so we will not say good-bye but 'See you Soon.' It has been wonderful to see how God has blessed the corps and the developments over the years.
God is not done yet and even greater things are in store in the future. You have new officers to love and partner in ministry with, many lives to influence and introduce to Christ in your sphere of influence, and even more glory for the Lord as He is at work in your life. We commend the new officers to you to support and love. They will be family as we became family.
Continue to love each other, continue to seek the Lord, you are awesome and shining jewels in God's kingdom. We leave with saddened hearts as we will miss you, but know you will continue to go to new heights - how exciting! We leave with the promise God gives in Proverbs 3:5-6 - we trust Him as you do, He knows best, and we follow. May God continue to bless you and keep you, may the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace - now and always,
With Care & Prayer,
Nigel & Stacy (Jaime too)

Music Ministry at the Anaheim ARC
|
|
The Salvation Army
Anaheim Adult Rehabilitation Center
Administrator
Friends,
As Julie and I wind down our time at the Anaheim ARC, I am reminded that upon leaving there will be no music accompaniment for the Wednesday or Sunday Chapel services. If you know of someone looking to provide a music ministry, I know Majors James & Cathi Boyd would greatly appreciate them being of service. I'm sure they'd entertain either guitar or piano accompaniment.
Thank you!

Divisional Summer Bible Study Challenge
|
|
by Lt. Col. Lisa Smith
Any who wish may join us simply by purchasing the book
Renovation of the Heart in Daily Practice by Dallas Willard and Jan Johnson, and start reading a chapter a day starting July 1. (NOTE: this book should not be confused with the larger "Renovation of the Heart" book by Dallas Willard)
The challenge will be to work through the 61 chapters (2-3 pages) as daily readings from July 1 through August 30, 2017 this summer.
Here's what those interested need to do:
1) Purchase your own book - available from websites like Christianbook.com (listed on 6/8/17 for $11.99 print version or $9.69 electronic version) and Amazon.com (listed on 6/8/17 for $13.26 print version or $8.54 electronic)
2) Start reading one 2-3 page chapter each day starting July 1, 2017. There are 61 chapters, so you will be finished on August 30 if you read daily. Each of these short chapters has an initial portion by Dallas Willard (an excerpt from his book "Renovation of the Heart") then a short reflection by spiritual director Jan Johnson, followed by an exercise the reader can choose to do to apply the teaching to their own lives.
3) Join our facebook page called "Summer Spiritual Formation Challenge - So Cal" and hit like if you are going to participate. Also, you can post encouraging words or questions on the page as we go through the summer!
As an option, participants are also welcome to meet weekly with other participants in their corps or area to discuss concepts in the reading in a small group.
