"Be joyful always; ..." This verse has been the one that God hand-picked for my special verse. But recently, He gave me a new nugget to ponder. Be joyful comes
before pray continually. Prayer might have been the means to become joyful, yet joyful is placed first.
This year, joy has been a journey. In the past, I tended to make joy into great BIG moments, but often, joy is instead found in small, ordinary moments and also in the choices I make. Chronic illness is big and it's hard, yet in the moment-by-moment choices, I've discovered there are amazing gifts
if choose to
God gives me special, designed-just-for-me gifts of
joy all the time. For example, I love the color red. Often, God will place a flower, a rainbow, or even a gorgeous red fall leaf right in my view. We recently purchased a new-to-us car, one I wasn't certain we should buy, but when I noticed that the license plate number began with ACE, I roared with laughter at God's kindness. ACE is the easy way we remember the purpose of Chronic Joy:
Education (ACE, because Jesus is number 1).
I've also learned this year that when I choose to look at the small moments, I really can be joyful more often. I'd love for you to join me on this
joy journey, looking at the small moments of God's special kindness just for you.
Will you join me in prayer? Ask God to open your eyes to His kindness.
