AARF Volunteer Opportunities

Are you looking for a way to get more involved with AARF and animal welfare in Atlanta? Check out these upcoming volunteer opportunities!

AARF Table Volunteers

Saturday, October 6, 10:00 - 3:00

AARF is one of the charities supported by the Southern Softpaw League, one of Atlanta's largest softball leagues. On October 6, we have the opportunity to set up a table at the softball games and provide information about our adoptions, fostering and spay/neuter program to all of the softball players and attendees. This is a great opportunity to expose AARF to a great group of animal lovers and advocates. We need 2-3 volunteers who can set up the table and talk to interested folks about AARF. If you can't volunteer for the entire time, we may be able to have two shifts of volunteers. The league plays their games at the Southside Softball Complex in Jonesboro.

Email Susan@aarfatlanta.org if you would like sign up to volunteer.

Cat Adoption Day

Sunday, October 7, 12:30-3:30

We'll be holding our Catoberfest cat adoption day on October 7. We need 1-2 volunteers to talk to potential adopters and to help keep an eye on all of our fantastic AARF cats!

If you are interested in volunteering, please email Susan at susan@aarfatlanta.org.

AARF at Pet-A-Palooza

Saturday, October 20, 12:00 - 6:00

AARF has been invited to participate in Dave FM's Pet-A-Palooza at Piedmont Park! This is another fantastic opportunity to get the word out about AARF and our fantastic pets available for adoption. We need 2-3 people at our table to talk to folks attending the event. If you can't volunteer for the entire time, we can work in shifts to be sure a team of volunteers is available for the entire event.

If you can volunteer for this event, please email Susan at susan@aarfatlanta.org.

Dog Adoption Day

Saturday, October 20, 11:30-3:30

We'll be holding our Dogtoberfest dog adoption day on October 20. We need 4-5 volunteers to help set up crates, walk dogs, clean up after the walks, pack up crates at the end of the day and talk to potential adopters. Volunteers should be at least 18 years old and have a good amount of dog experience. We also need one volunteer who can pick up Betty Jo from her boarding facility at 11:00, bring her to AARF Pet Central and give her a bath, and then take her back to the boarding facility at 3:00.

If you are interested in volunteering, please email Alyssa at alyssa@aarfatlanta.org.

Flyer Posting

Ongoing
4-5 hours per month

AARF needs volunteers who can post flyers in specific neighborhoods on a regular basis (ideally, once or twice a month). We need to post flyers about adoption days, events and pets for adoption. If you have already signed up to post flyers, we have some ready! Email us or stop by to pick up your flyers.

Email Susan at susan@aarfatlanta.org if you would like to be on the flyer team.

Volunteer Coordinator

5-10 Hours Per Week

Are you passionate about helping homeless pets find forever homes? Do you want to help coordinate volunteers?

AARF is looking for a someone to join our team as a volunteer coordinator. Volunteers are the backbone of what we do, so the Volunteer Coordinator role is critical. You'll work with the rest of the AARF team to help identify volunteer opportunities, conduct quarterly volunteer orientations, recruit and schedule volunteers.
