(Grammy winner Steve Earle urges L.A. to Take on Walmart)

We know it's summer and the beach or hammock is calling. But you really don't want to miss tomorrow's historic march and rally to stop Walmart's L.A. expansion.

This will be the largest action ever held to protest Walmart's race-to-the bottom model, which hurts almost everyone -- workers, communities, local businesses -- except Walmart shareholders and the Walton family.
And it will be inspiring: Grammy winner Tom Morello will perform, Walmart employees will share their powerful stories and 10,000 of us will march through the heart of Chinatown.

This week the top three L.A. mayoral candidates endorsed tomorrow's rally, and pledged never to take money from Walmart. They know that if Walmart dominates L.A.'s grocery industry, the negative impacts on our economy will be felt far and wide.

This is great news. Now we need to send a loud and clear message to Walmart that they are not welcome in Los Angeles unless they change the way they do business.

We'll look for you in Chinatown tomorrow.

Warmly,
Roxana Tynan
