Dear Friends and Supporters,
We hope this message finds you and your family safe. Hurricane Harvey is having a devastating effect on our community. As in the past with Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Ike and the last three years of flooding, Easter Seals Greater Houston is here to help in the aftermath of Harvey. Emergency funding for our clients is of the utmost importance to help them in their time of need, when our families with children and adults with disabilities are already stressed and stretched to the max financially and emotionally. Not only will they need the same help as our neighbors but also with replacement expenses of expensive durable medical equipment like wheelchairs, assistive technology and more not covered by insurance but necessary to live, learn, work and play in our community.
We are incredibly grateful for the support we have had ourselves through the past few years' flooding and grateful as well for the support of our community in ensuring that we were able to move our main offices so that the Caroline School and Children's Therapy Clinic are out of harms way for now. This allows us to better assist our clients and those in our community with disabilities who are most definitely going to need our help, assistance and prayers.
