International Blast Festival!

The Downtown Improvement District will celebrate culture and diversity in Fort Wayne by holding the International Blast festival in downtown Fort Wayne on Saturday, September 29 from 12pm to 6pm. The event will take place downtown on Wayne and Calhoun Streets and in One Summit Square. It is a family friendly, free event.

FWMoA: Systemic Abstraction

 
When: Thursday, September 6, 6 p.m.

Where: Fort Wayne Museum of Art

Featuring artists John Collins McCormick, Carly Schmitt, and Kamilah Campbell. Led by curator Dan Swartz of the Wunderkammer Company, this installment of Art Scene will explore the major themes and notions driving the curatorial and artistic decisions made to bring this bold exhibition to fruition.

Civic Theatre: A Few Good Men

Where: Arts United Center 

 

The dramatic story of two men on trial for the death of a fellow Marine sizzles on stage. Their callow young Navy lawyer expects a plea bargain and a cover up.  Prodded by a female member of his defense team, he eventually makes a valiant effort to defend his clients and, in so doing, puts the Marine Code of Honor on trial.   Writer Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, The Social Network) later adapted the play for the 1992 hit film.

*Opening night party hosted by the Civic Theatre Guild immediately following performance.  $2 Admission - in the Ian Rolland Gallery.

Byran Kest comes to Pranayoga for a 3 hour master class! Class will include an hour talk followed by a two hour practice. In Bryan''s power yoga workshop you are encouraged to focus on the process and not the result. This allows ALL levels of students to enjoy and benefit from his class. Fort Wayne Civic Theatre: Auditions for A Christmas Story

 

A Play in Two Acts: Based on the movie, A Christmas Story follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker, growing up in 1940s Indiana, in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher and even Santa Claus himself, receiving the same answer every time: "You'll shoot your eye out!"  All the elements from the beloved motion picture are here! Interested?
