FROM THE SCHOOL
Mental Health Advocacy Awareness Campaign
Leadership 2 students at RMS have created a Mental Health Advocacy Team. This team is initiating a mental health awareness campaign with the following education objectives:
  • Mental health needs are a common and significant health concern in our school.
  • Anxiety and depression are the most common mental health concerns.
  • Stigma is still a powerful barrier in our students and their families obtaining effective support and treatment.
  • The Mental Health Advocacy Team's campaign will educate RMS students about this important topic through a PACE lesson, morning announcements and RMS social media using a specific hashtag they will create about this campaign.
  • Here are some useful links for parents regarding mental health issues such as depression, anxiety disorders and test anxiety in teens.
