If you want to prevent getting colds this season, then regular, moderate exercise may be just what the doctor ordered. The best way to avoid the problem is not to get sick in the first place.

So what about if you are already sick? Should you work out with a cold?

And when should you call the doctor about your cold and exercising?

Save Your Back While Shoveling!        The Ultimate Back Pain Relief Tips Blog

Tis the season for shoveling and the backaches after. Snow shoveling is a repetitive and sometimes strenuous activity that can cause back strain and other injuries, hence the importance of good technique.

  • Lift smaller loads of snow, rather than heavy shovelfuls.

  • Step in the direction in which you are throwing the snow to prevent the low back from twisting. This will help prevent "next-day back fatigue."

  • Take frequent breaks when shoveling. Stand up straight and walk around periodically to extend the lower back.
