20 Minutes At the Gym Keeps a Cold Away!
If you want to prevent getting colds this season, then regular, moderate exercise may be just what the doctor ordered. The best way to avoid the problem is not to get sick in the first place.
So what about if you are already sick? Should you work out with a cold?
And when should you call the doctor about your cold and exercising?
Tis the season for shoveling and the backaches after. Snow shoveling is a repetitive and sometimes strenuous activity that can cause back strain and other injuries, hence the importance of good technique.
Lift smaller loads of snow, rather than heavy shovelfuls.
Step in the direction in which you are throwing the snow to prevent the low back from twisting. This will help prevent "next-day back fatigue."
Take frequent breaks when shoveling. Stand up straight and walk around periodically to extend the lower back.
You finally got yourself on a workout routine and actually stuck to it during those hot summer days and cool fall mornings.
Then you wake up one morning and the weatherman says the high will be 28 degrees. And before you know it, it's been two weeks since your last run, bike ride, or swim!
Tis the season to lose focus and motivation. Don't let the cold weather take you off track-click here toBeat The Winter Blues!
