Dear Neighbors

Today is the last Rimrock Farmer's Market for the season which has been held at Verde Valley Honey on Beaver Creek Rd.  Please be sure to thank Candy Hammond for managing and bringing such a fine service to this community and to John Hasper for hosting the market.  We hope they will do this again next year!!

This weekend Bingo returns to the Beaver Creek Adult Center after an absence of many years.  Next weekend the bi-monthly bird walks begin again at Montezuma Well.  Lots of classes are ongoing at Emerald Waves Healing and the Beaver Creek Adult Center.  Call and ask each for their schedule information.

shiny 3d number 50th made of gold On Saturday, October 6, a special 50 year anniversary party is being held at Robbie's to celebrate the incorporation of the organization that formed the road and bridge districts which paved much of Lake Montezuma and provided the bridge at Montezuma Ave.  The Lake Montezuma Property Owners' Association (now BCCA) members did so much for the community.  This is an opportunity to recognize those residents from our past who donated their time for us.  Most are no longer with us, but we will remember them and celebrate.  The details are below.   On the following Sunday, the Beaver Creek Adult Center is celebrating its 25th anniversary.  And a heads up notice to all that Yavapai County will be providing free flu shots on Friday, October 12, from 10 AM to 1 PM at the BC Adult Center.

Looking forward to paying our respects on October 6 at Robbie's,

Truck Fire--CC Fire & Medical at Work

At 2:40 PM on September 22 Copper Canyon Fire and Medical, Sedona Fire, and the Arizona Department of Safety were dispatched to a semi-truck vs. a semi-truck on I-17 MP 305 NB.  Upon arrival units found 2 semi-trucks one with minor damage and the other truck was fully involved with the fire spreading quickly to its load and into the forest.  Copper Canyon Fire and Sedona Fire immediately deployed both a fire attack and a medical crew to stabilize the scene.  Happy to report that no occupants or firefighters were injured.  I-17 was then shut down for approximately 3 hrs. as ADOT cleared the trucks form the scene.  The incident is still under investigation by DPS.

Quilt Raffle to Purchase Drone for MRFD

Here are pictures of 2 quilts we are raffling off to support the Montezuma Rimrock Fire District. Tickets are available at Crickets, the BC Adult Center, Robbie's, The Verde Valley Honey Store in Rimrock, and at the FD in Camp Verde.  The drawing will take place later this year, once our sales goal is reached.  This is being sponsored by the MRFD Auxiliary to fund the purchase of a video drone for the Department. This equipment will assist search and rescue efforts and add a capability to further serve the community. The quilts were donated by the Quilters Store in Sedona.  Tickets are $1 for one or six for $5.
